Question about having both direct and resale contracts

I bought direct from Disney about 10 years ago, so I have a blue membership card. Here are some questions:

1. If I buy a resale and want to do a Moonlight Magic event, do the points used for the resort reservation that qualify me to book MM early have to come from my direct contracts or can I use a resale contract and still get the early booking for MM?

2. If I book a stay on a resale contract, can I still use perks like the Epcot lounge, Top Of The World lounge, etc. since I have a blue card? Or do I have to be staying on direct points to get those perks for that stay?

3. If I were to sell some contracts and get down to only having a 60 point original direct contract, I'm grandfathered in, right? I saw that they changed the minimum to 100 points, but as long as I keep that original 60 point contract from 10 years ago, I'm good?

4. Assuming I don't have a problem with the booking restrictions, what downsides do I need to look out for buying a resale? Or do the "perk" disadvantages of resale contracts not apply to me since I already have direct contracts and a blue card? This is really where my confusion is coming in. I guess a simpler way to put it is, are the perks/membership extras governed by the membership or by the contract used to book?

My family is talking through some different scenarios of buying and selling contracts and these are the questions we had. Thanks for any help you guys can give!

  1. No, any reservation on property (Cash or points)
  2. Same answer as #1
  3. Yes, you’d be grandfathered in with the minimums when purchased 10 years ago
  4. Only resales Riviera and beyond, those points would only be able to book at your home resort. All other resales can be used at CCV and older, but not Riviera and newer.

It is worth mentioning on 1 that some people have encountered MM registration angst if booked on their resale points. I think it is generally when their direct and resale have different UYs.

The only thing I will add is that the new resale points are restricted to stays at the L14 resorts. You will not be able to use those to book RIV and any future resorts,

In terms of perks it doesn’t matter which points were used, it is a qualified membership that matters. if you are buying with the same UY, the points will be in the same membership.

And, as long as you keep the contract that qualifies for direct benefits, you will continue to have the blue card

I can confirm. I own 100 direct points and several resale contracts, some UY. I continue to have the blue card and enjoy all benefits but I save lot of money buying resale.
I try to stick to one UY to simplify things
