Would near the Frozen show building be a very good place to see Galactic Spectacular?
We were going to do the dessert party but had to change everything around so we may not.
We really would like to have a good viewing spot.

DHS FIREWORKS Viewing (Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular)
The stage (#3) is now often removed from the viewing area well before the fireworks begin.

Yes, it's a mobile stage. They removed it prior to the Star Wars fireworks when we saw them in December.

I wanted to show it as being there (because it IS there during the day) but I wanted
guests to know that it will usually be taken away in time for the fireworks (as otherwise, it can be a major obstruction to
the projections from some angles.)

I believe it is right around the right side #2 on the map above where I saw the show from in January, maybe where that darker green is a little to the right of it. There was a small vendor kiosk and on the theater side of that was a small little curved area with a short concrete wall/bench. This was an absolutely perfect view. Somewhat centered to the theater, a close view of the projections, a place to sit before it started, nobody directly in front of you, and if you're able, you can stand on the wall during the show and see over everybody in front of you, though that's not necessarily needed. There was nobody around us for the show while the whole plaza area was packed.

Thanks! How far ahead of time did you have to save that spot?

That depends on the crowd-level (and that is unpredictable as many guests hop over to DHS just for the evening shows.)

Figure 45-60 min. in advance, give or take.

But, at WDW, being far "too early" beats being one minute "too late."

I heard its hard to see with everyone standing in front of you and with "kids on shoulders". Is that so?

Like all projection and fireworks shows at WDW, that is always a possibility.

But, the chances that it will happen from YOUR particular vantage point is far less than 50%.

This was on January 1st so it was pretty crowded, we got there about 15-20 minutes before the show started. Just as Movie Magic was starting. Probably could have even gotten there closer to 10 minutes before with no issue.

When are you going? We were there the last week of April and had an awesome spot at a picnic table by the Frozen theatre. Between Echo Lake and #2 on the map above. I guess because it wasn't too crowded that night we had a sitting spot at a table and my little guy was able to do a complete light saber battle to the fireworks with plenty of room ! There were no issues seeing the show at all for us but you might be going when it's way more crowded.

We watched near the junction of Hollywood BLVD and Sunset BLVD and could see everything really well. It was crowded, but not terrible.

Where is the dessert party area on this map?

I felt like the dessert party is closer to #3 now. It's a roped off area right in front of the theater unless they have moved it again since April. It's been in at least 3 different locations that I've been to since it started.

You watched the current show from there and could see everything?
Where is the dessert party area on this map?
In a defined area roughly between #16 and #2.

Are we talking about the SW dessert party viewing area or the actual dessert party?

the party is in Launch Bay unless it's been moved.
It's in the Launch Bay.

The previous area was roped off and was directly in front of one of the towers. The viewing area for the party is now in it's second location which is the raised area in front of the Chinese Theater where the Sorcerers hat was located.
