Does anyone know if the I can get tickets for friends using this discount? or are the tickets just for employees immediate family? :confused3
Are the tickets different from regular tickets in any way? :confused3

Thanks in advance for any help with this question.

I have a cousin that works for Cadillac in Detroit and he gets vouchers once a year. I want to know if I would be able to use them? Am I considered immediate family???

Is this discount for any GM employee? My dad is a GM employee, but he never heard about ticket discounts.

The discount tickets are only available through the socrates website.
https://mygm.gm.com/

You have to show proof of employment to purchase them, but I couldn't find if you had to have ID to use them. No one at the plant where my husband works seems to know anything about them. At least no one he's asked in the past does.

My dad called around today and this is what GM sent him:

Beginning January 2, 2005, Walt Disney World announced "Magic Your Way" tickets and are offering the tickets listed below at a 12% discount to its Walt Disney World theme parks in Florida to all GM employees and retirees. Please keep in mind that the Walt Disney World Company administers this program and prices are subject to change without notice. Further, all multi-day passes expire 14 days from first date of usage.

To obtain tickets, you must fill out the Walt Disney World Ticket Request form along with the Walt Disney World-GM Employment Verification Form. Please note, you must print the forms and either fax or mail them (information provided on Walt Disney World-GM Verification sheet). Ticket orders received after 3:00 p.m. (EST) will be processed the next business day. Please note: All pertinent information regarding discounted ticket purchases is available only on this web site.

All Ticket Request and Employment Verification forms must be faxed to our office at 407-827-0139 or mail to the address listed on the Ticket Order form. You can only purchase discounted tickets by credit card and your employee signature must match the name on the credit card. Each employee can purchase up to 20 tickets per calendar year. If faxing the order, please confirm through your fax machine that your order was sent.

All sales are final, no returns, exchanges or credits are permitted. The tickets offered below are only the ones available to purchase under this program. You cannot purchase these discounted tickets once you are at Walt Disney World, nor can you order over the phone.

Another thing they sent was this little gem:
Please remember to bring your GM employee identification with you when you come to Test Track as it allows you and the members in your group admittance up to the GM V.I.P. lounge, and special access to the ride. The lounge is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including most holidays. A health card, pay stub, pension stub or business card with driver’s license will suffice.

Wonder if Dad has to be with us to use that? The guy he talked to said you basically get FOTL at Test Track with this perk.

Do you have an email address for inquiries?

Thanks and have a great night :flower:

I'll have tell my FIL about this perk. He and my MIL will be joining us next Feb. and he is sooo looking forward to Test Track. You'd think after 38 years in the plant he'd had enough of seeing them! LOL! He is retired now so I will have him check on this perk.
Thanks to the OP for bringing this to our attention!

We did this Easter 2004. My stepdad is retired. They take you in the a different way. You have to go in through the gift shop.

Do these price include tax?

We use the lounge every trip. If you are going Monday- Friday 9-5 you enter through a silver steel door located to the right of the main entrance. Open the door, walk to the end of the hallway and ring the buzzer. Someone will ask you to show your G.M. i.d., then let you on the elevator. The lounge is great and remember your camera because there is a great window and view ot the Epcot ball. Once your rested and ready to ride you are given a pass and a back way on to the ride.

Only enter through the gift shop if it is after 5, a weekend, or a holiday.

We had as many as 10 guests come on with us before.

One other note with the tickets is that all expire and you cannot add this option.

I'm sorry, I don't have one. My dad is calling on Monday to the lady who "knows about the Disney stuff". I'll have him ask her for an contact email.

I'm having him ask her if he has to be there for us to use the lounge....I'd hate to drag him with us just so we can access the lounge. :rotfl:

The info didn't specify if this price includes tax, I'll add that to the list for Dad on Monday. :flower:

We were able to use the lounge when we were there...my DH had to show his business card from the dealership and that was it....I would imagine that whoever was the GM employee would need to be there to show ID. :flower:

Wonder if this would apply to people who work for a dealership. My husband is a sales manager at a Chevrolet dealership, do you think this discount and VIP entrance would apply to him???

I wish the lounge was open at night and on the weekends. We always seem to miss it.

For anyone who has used the lounge...Is it big? Do they have restrooms? What else are we missing?

Getting to go to the front of the line is a great perk! I feel kind of bad for the others waiting......
