Question about GF and guaranteed PS's

As I was sitting in the GF lobby waiting for my daughter to get done at the Wonderland Tea Party, I overheard a CM telling a couple about some of the ammenities of staying at the GF. I think he said something like, "And you know that you have guaranteed PS's at all the restaurants in the parks?" Did I hear this correctly? Or, is that possibly only for concierge level guests? Just curious. Is that the way to get into Cindy's? Stay at the Grand Floridian? Hey, it would probably be cheaper than making all those phone calls!! Ha!

Sorry, but you were misinformed. The Grand Floridian Guests get the same amenities as all other resort guests. Unless, of course, you decided to stay in the resort's Presidential Suite, then your every wish is the concierge's command (and, at *ONLY* $2000 a night).

CaliforniaDreaming, you’re not quite correct with your statement. They will *try* to accommodate your every wish but they cannot guarantee it. Even for the Presidential Suite. *Sigh*

Definitely not true, at least for the regular rooms. When we stayed at GF 2 1/2 years ago, I tried to change a 1900 Park Fair PS to a later time at the guest services desk and couldn't get it. I mentioned we were staying there, didn't help!

Well, Janet, a good concierge can get ANYTHING for you when you are a guest of a Presidential Suite. I guess I forgot we were talking about the Royal Palm Club concierges. LOL They should be able to get anything for you, however, it is not always possible (even though I have been told by the concierge that as a guest of the RPC they'll get me anything I want - I know it's not true).

I made a ressie for the luau through GF concierge pre-planning services about 30 prior to arrival..not a problem. About a week later I called and wanted to switch to the later luau instead of the early one. I was immediately met with, "Oh, you can't do that! There's less than 30 days before you get here. It's not available." I was disappointed but ok. Then I decided, just for giggles, to call WDWDINE myself and see if he was right. NO, HE WAS NOT!!! The lady at ressies couldn't believe I had been told it wasn't available. (and it wasn't that something had just come open...he hadn't even checked...it was an immediate response!) The lady at ressies was wonderful and had me write down my canx # and my new conf. # (which, incidentally, I have no conf.# for any of my PS's made through concierge)
So, concierge guests can NOT necessarily get guaranteed PS. Or at least not us ordinary folks. I'm sure a celebrity could swing something.
I've been unimpressed with GF concierge so far. I hope that changes when we actually get to the resort.

I've been having the exactly opposite experience than Familyof6. The GF pre-planners have been GREAT!!! They even got Cindy's ressies for me!!!! Saved me from calling!!!!! Hopefully, this will continue and turn into a MOST magical stay. It's always been my dream to stay in the main building, and I'm looking forward to it!!
