Question about fast passes!

Hey, this is probably a dumb question, but can you have multiple fast passes at one time? I remember going ages ago and you could only have one fast pass at a time.. Theoretically then, if you could have multiple, could you bolt through the park collecting fast passes and then come back and have fast passes for every ride??

Once you have your first FP, you can only get a FP for a 2nd attraction after the return window for your first one comes up OR 2 hours after you get the first one - whichever comes first.

You cannot go around and collect up FPs for a bunch of attractions 'all at once'.

While this is a HOTLY debated subject here in the DIS, I will point out that as a rule of thumb, fast passes will be accepted AFTER the return window has passed. If you receive a fast pass with a return time of say 11:15 - 12:15 you can NOT use it before 11:15, however you could return to the ride a 5:00 in the evening, and the fast pass will be accepted. On RARE occasions people have been turned away when using a fast pass in this fashion, but returning to the same ride a little bit later will pretty much always get you on.

Using this information to your advantage, it is possible to wander around the park in the early part of the day, riding what ever you find with a short stand by time, and collecting fast passes as you can (remember your current pass shows what time your next one will be available), then using up the fast passes in the evening when the stand by lines are long.

This is usually what we do and we've never had a problem. However, if a CM told us we couldn't use a FP at 8pm when the return time was 10-11 am, we wouldn't make a fuss either.

How much easier would it be if you could have multiple fast passes. Would def save stress and walking from one side of the park to the other. But it will never happen.

It does actually happen now, if you consider the "Give A Day" FastPasses.

They, like the "Free on Your Birthday" FP's last year, were/are all available at once, and allow you to use them without any waiting.

But (as you hinted at,) in general, if they handled ALL FP's in this manner, the entire system would be useless,
as "everyone" could directly enter the FP line, and nobody would use in the Standby line. No advantage.
