We are sailing on the Dream in June and since we are a family of 5, my son is staying in the room with my father. My question is about boarding, I did online check in last night and it gave me a form to sign. Of course my son is not on there and will be on my fathers form. Since we are traveling separate, will there be issues with me getting my son on the boat before my father arrives? Should I have him send me a copy of his form just in case? I was able to get a 10:30 PAT and plan to get there early since we are coming from WDW.

We're doing to same, so I'm watching this thread to find out what others say!

I checked my son in when he was booked in a room with my husband (who wasn't with me when I checked in), no problem. BUT, I had his form, signed by my husband. In fact, I checked my husband in too, since I had his passport, but that's another issue altogether :)
Now, the thing is, your dad will need to bring his cruise contract (the form we are talking about) with him to check himself in. In order for this to work, I would suggest having him print two copies and giving one to you and keeping one himself. That way, if they ask for the contract for your son, you have it. Should work fine. But if you are concerned, you might call DCL to be sure. And then maybe call again, since we all know how reliable they can be on the phone ;)

You've gotten answers from others about the boarding situation. I'm just going to add in, be sure your father has signed the permission form for you to take your son off the ship. Yes, he's your son, but the adult in the room he's actually booked into has to give permission for someone else (in a different room, even if it's the parents) to take him off the ship.

Once you get your boarding card you can take who ever you want on board with you. We often have two or three rooms. We are platinum and get 1 boarding all the time. If the rest of our family doesn't get 1 for boarding we still all go together. We have been on 17 cruises. They have never Checked before whether someone wasn't in th same boarding group. Also I'm not sure you can still do it but my husband has dropped off the family with luggage and then take rental car back. I would take his passport and check him in then leave his cruise card at the supervisor desk. When he got back to port, he would use the copy of the cruise contract that I gave hm plus his drivers license to get into terminal. Go to supervisor desk, get his room card and walk on.
