Question about extra park hours for deluxe resort guests

Hello. I am planning a trip next month and see that magic kingdom will be open from 10pm-12am for guests staying at deluxe resorts one of the days I am there. I learned that Disney has been extending park hours the closer the dates get - right now MK closes at 11pm, instead of 10pm as listed next month.

My question is: are those extra park hours 2 hours no matter what? For example, if they change MK’s hours to 11pm, will those extra hours be 11pm-1am? Or would it remain 10-12? (Sorry if I’m not making sense, just trying to figure my plans out)

We will be using the MK extra hours on Wed April 20.

At first, the MK was scheduled to close at 9pm and the extra hours listed as 9-11pm.

The schedule changed to an 11pm closing, and now extra hours are listed as 11pm-1am.

So I think the answer to your question is, yes, the extra park hours are 2 hours after the listed closing time.

Yes, the extra 2 hours are after the listed close time. If the stated close time shifts, the extra 2 hours will also shift. That said, I wouldn't necessarily expect closing hours to shift later next month like April, which is driven by spring break crowds.

I'll be there too, not sure I can hang till 1am. I know my kids can but not sure about me and my husband! We have DHS the next day so outside of trying to get rise and slinky at 7am, we're sleeping in. Pretty much by fireworks, most rides will be a much lower wait....I'm so excited! Have a great visit!

Attended the Deluxe Extra hours last night at MK. Honestly 11pm-1am is not much of a perk and not worth it for most families. We were surprised at the large crowds and the waits for the most popular rides. 45 min wait for 7DMT and 40 min wait for Space Mtn? I guess we had expected much less time waiting in line for this ‘perk’. Thumbs down for us. Disney needs to step up and offer Deluxe(and up) guests more to entice them to spend $$$$ on the pricier resorts. Of course in my humble opinion only.

I also agree with you on overall crowds. Yesterday was a feels like a 10 day with level 5’ish waits. We were also at MK yesterday and the posted waits were not always accurate. We rode space mountain, 7dmt and Astro orbiter and they were all around 15 -20 min min waits. We did this during fireworks and again after 11. There was a backlog right after fireworks when space got kind of long.

We left around 12:45am and we’re also surprised about the overall crowds for the EEH too but the ride waits weren’t terrible. I would have preferred the park kept the 9pm close as I’m not really a night owl but our kids had fun staying out late.
