Question about extra fees

Sorry if this is silly but when you purchase points from a member for the $10.00 or so and reservations are made, what other fees are there? I've been looking at the value resorst but by the time I finish I might as well rent points and stay in a studio with a microwave and fridge for almost the same price.

There are no other fees and that includes no room tax either. Not having to pay that 11.5% or 12.5% room tax saves a lot of money. Renting points is a great deal.

Of course, if you have to have maid service every day or are unwilling to wait until the 4th day for clean towels, you will have to pay an additional $6 a day for a towel pack, or $25 a day for maid service.

Just to clarify, unless you are staying more than 7 days, you will not get maid service. You will get trash and towel service on day 4. So, if you want that stuff, the extra charges are posted above.

That is just for the room, though. It's not a package deal that includes tickets or meals.

Yes, $10 to $12 per point. Take a look at the rent trade board. If you are a DVC member and you need more points for a specific trip, a point trasnfer would probably work the best.
