Hi,

Our first full day at Disney (BWV) will be a Sunday (MVMCP that night at MK). I'd like to check in and head over to MK ASAP!

Then I wanted to give our BIL a tour of the monorail resorts (especially since it's December...decorations!) and then maybe rent a boat and then eat at 6:30p (MK will be closing at 6:00p that night).

What would you do?

Drive? Park at TTC? Valet park?
Take the bus? If I take the bus, how do I get back to BWV at around 8:30p when MK closed at 6:00p?

Walk through Epcot and take the monorail? That sounds like it would take too long...

I've always stayed at monorail resorts so I'm really confused now when I want to spend a day at MK and then a monorail resort...what's the best way to get there and back??

One possibility that you might have is to drive to CR (since you're planning on doing Chef Mickey's), park there and pick up the monorail to go to MK. You could also do the monorail tour as well. Then take monorail back to CR, eat, and then drive back to BW when finished.

You should be able to park at CR with no problem seeing that you have reservations at Chef Mickey's. The only thing I don't know for certain is when the monorail shuts down. Does it run as long as Epcot is open? I would think so, otherwise how would some of those people who are staying at monorail resorts get back from Illuminations if they took the monorail?

Just a thought.

I would drive to CR, park my car and walk over to MK. It's a quick walk, maybe 5-6 minutes via the walkway. Then you could walk back to CR, eat and when you finish eating, you could take the monorail around the resort loop and check out the decorations. Or do the reverse and check out the resorts when you are finished at MK. Just grab the resort monorail (as opposed to the TTC one, that's an express), check out the other resorts and return to CR via the monorail. Then drive back to BWV. The monorail does run until about 2 hrs after Epcot closes. Have fun!!

They give 3 hour parking permits for PS. They do not allow you to make a PS for dinner and park there all day. As the sign states, parking is for resort guests and cannot accomodate folks who want to park there for easy access to MK. Of course, you can pay for valet parking and there is no restriction.

I do not want break any rules.

What I really wanted was opinions on driving or bus from bwv. If I take a bus, how do I get back at 8:30 at night?

Sounds like if I park at the TTC, I'd get back easily as the monorails will be running that late, right?

You mentioned that it was a MVMCP night... if so, then buses WILL be running from the MK until one hour after the party ends.

Personally, I'd take the bus to the MK... play in the parks, have dinner, tour the resorts, la la la, and all that... and when you're done, just head back to the MK, and hop on board the bus.

If you drive... you'll need to park at the TTC.

That's great news! I knew it was a MVMCP night but for some reason didn't think the buses would be going on all night.

Thanks for chiming in! I think I'll try the bus.

Ooops, thanks Gail for reminding me about the length of parking. Forgot all about that. And how did I miss the MVMCP being on that night. Yep, just like Tyler says, take the bus. Yikes. Where's my head these days.

When we do this, we take the bus over, but then take the Monorail back. We usually catch Illuminations when we are walking back through Epcot, a perfect way to complete the evening!
