question about Disney Visa and DVC

I need some help! I recently purchased DVC at SSR through Disney and was told several times that the down payment up to 2500.00 would be 0% for 6 months if I used my disney visa. So I did. Now Chase is telling me (for the last two months) they only know of that incentive for vacations booked with the visa NOT DVC downpayments. I know I have read it in the Disney Visa newsletter and on these boards, plus our sales representative told us too!

Can anyone help me verify this? I need something e-mailed to me or some link to send to Chase if possible.

Thanks,
Jeff

You're not imagining things. I seem to remember it saying that right on the front page of the member Web site.

If you use your Disney's Visa(r) Credit Card in making the down payment on your purchase of a real estate interest in a Disney Vacation Club Resort, the Daily Periodic Rate for the down payment for the first 6 billing cycles following the date of the purchase is a promotional fixed rate of 0% corresponding to an APR of 0%, so long as any payments due on your Account are not past due at the time of purchase. This rate will apply to your initial down payment and add-on purchase for the lesser of $2,500 or 10% of your total purchase price. After this promotional period, the applicable APR for purchases will take effect on any remaining Disney Vacation Club purchase balance. This 0% APR does not apply to Disney Vacation Club purchases made using a Convenience Check. Payments and credits are allocated to balances with lower Annual Percentage Rates (APRs) (such as promotional APRs) before balances with higher APRs except promotional balances on qualified Disney Vacation Club or Disney vacation package purchases. Offer valid 2/1/05-12/31/05.

Thanks so much. I will forward this to them. You were "Johnny on the spot."

Now if I can just get them to first apply my payments to the intrest bearing balance and not the 0% balance.

Not a problem I've had to call them 2 times because they applied my payments to my VAC Pack and DVC purchase instead of my other charges .This is normally not a proble as I pay my balance in full. However with a n OCT trip ,DVC dwn,and PAP's I will be caring a balance for a few months.

I have to say that card is terrible! I would love to use it on a regular basis, but they mess everything up, all the time. I only use it for Disney purchases with extended 0% payment terms now, and they mess that up (purposely?) almost every time.
Whenever there is a special promotion, they do not apply it right, and there are hoops to jump through, which requires phone calls. Eventually they agree to correct it, but I should not have to worry about that. It really appears to be a scam - get away with what they can. I had hoped it would get better after Bank One left and it became Chase, but apparently that is not the case.
I was very excited when the card came out (Charter Member), but am totally disappointed in their product and actually wish Disney would just drop this partnership, as I feel it makes Disney look bad.
I am back to using other cards that reward me with as much as 5% towards their product.
If you are considering getting one - don't!!!

I don't have a Disney card, but I do have another Chase card, and never had a problem.

???Maybe their programs are just too complicated for their computers and their personnel.???
Still would not recommend it, other than it looks cool in the wallet.

That's going to be tough..the fine print in the card agreement says that they have the right to apply your payments as is most favorable to Chase.

No the last statement says .

" except promotional balances on qualified Disney Vacation Club or Disney vacation package purchases. Offer valid 2/1/05-12/31/05 "

Once this is pointed out I have had no problem with it at all.Chase has been better at correcting mistakes then B1 was .I think they are still in transition period .

Thanks to the OP for bringing this up. I was not credited for one of the charges. DVC made two separate charges. Chase has put in a "work order" to investigate.

I couldn't agree more. The card is a joke. For example, I charge about $60,000 a year on my credit card. I pay in full each month. This gives me 60,000 frequent flyer miles per year. This is enough for 2 roundtrip tickets to the Carribean or Hawaii. Those tickets average around $600 each or more. This is a minimum of $1200. If I charged that on a Disney Visa it would have netted me $600 in Disney dollars, half of what I got with my card. I'll take my frequent flyer card any time. I feel people get it just because it has the Disney name. 1% back is a joke. Other cards out there can get you so much more. Skip this one.

I've had the card from day 1 and had few if any problems. When we added on in September our downpayment was 0% interest for 6 months and we didn't have to call.

By the way - Bank One didn't go away, the two banks merged and many of the Bank One management team members are still in place (my friend works in Chicago as a VP).

But thats not all they offer

You don't get exclusive MEET & GREETS /Free MOVIE Screenings
You don't get discounts on everything Disney has to offer so you just can't say because you get to fly free it's the same .

I think the card is what it is and if they are the benifits you want in a card you can't beat it.If I added all the stuff I save on I bet it would bw over 5% or better. Now I know you could carry the card and get the benifits then use your other higher rewards card for spending but I like handing the Disney card over But thats just ME.
