Question about discounts

I'm a little confused with how the discounts work. I'm not currently an AP holder, but could be if it helped me get a discount!!!

Can I just call the reservation center and ask for availability with the AP discount for the week I want to go? Then if they have availability, can I book it now, and then purchase the AP when we get there in January?

Also, can I book more than one room? We would travel as a party of 6, and would want 2 rooms at a moderate.

Yes, you can book a room with an AP rate over the phone before you actually have the AP. You'll generally be given 24 hours after check in to produce your AP if you're asked for it at all.

There have been conflicting reports about how many rooms you can book. Some say 1, some say 3. Try it.

Is the AP discount a good one? Is it worth the price? Still new to this AP discount stuff lol
