Question about "dietary restrictions ", GF options

I've just looked at some of the menus recently posted on DisneyCruiseLineBlog dot com for the Dream/Fantasy and they appear to now indicate when items are GF or DF. The Caricos menu on the Magic has GF and DF identified too.

Hopefully this means most/all restaurants on the DCL are now identifying these items.

If you want them to have enough GF pasta, breads, buns, etc you need to tell them in advance you are GF.

PLEASE do. For the sake of everyone who needs GF!!

Question with the menus... I know they have things marked, but those are the things that are naturally GF (or simple like leave off croutons). Can you ask about other things being able to be modified?

@MickeyEarrings That's my point with this thread, as some of you know who might have read my previous posts. I'm not interested in gluten-free bread or pasta products whatsoever. I think they're disgusting, and I don't est them. I cannot eat rice flour which mostly is what they are made of. I just want to know what sauces etc might have hidden ingredients such as wheat. So I can make an informed decision, since I do not have a wheat allergy or celiac disease, just an extreme intolerance that causes undesirable side-effects.

We just had a cruise on the Magic mid-january. The menus are marked and have quite a number of dishes that are gluten free. My daughter has an allergy so she had those items which are naturally gluten free, no pastas or substitutes. Or she could ask for a pasta dish to be made gluten free the night before. At first she was just picking the dishes that are gluten free and the head waiter kept saying choose something not gluten free and we will make it gluten free. Some of her favorite dishes were the naturally gluten free dishes. We did Palo brunch and they did advise her of all the buffet foods that were gluten free and made her a chicken parm with gluten free bread crumbs to coat it, she said it was delish!

Hello ! I am always hesitant to specify on my preboarding profile that I would like the gluten free menu options at dinner. I do not have a gluten allergy; however, I am gluten intolerant and get unpleasant side affects that I would like to avoid while on vacation. Meaning, I do not have to worry about cross contamination; however, I do avoid eating wheat products. I am looking for advice from people who may have specified a gluten free diet while on board. I do not want any special accommodations made for me but I would be interested in knowing about GF options. Are they on the regular menu? Can I ask for GF substitutions? Or does this have to be worked out ahead of time ? What I am getting at is that I am normally able to modify a normal menu without having to request anything special . Wondering if this won't work for the servers unless I specify all this ahead of time. Hope this isn't too confusing , and thank you in advance !
There is at least one labeled GF entree listed on each menu, but it might not be the entree that appeals to you (most menu items have gluten). I recommend letting them know you're gluten-free in advance as people notifying in advance helps them get an idea of many gf items to have in the various kitchens, and therefore be better able to accomodate you while you sail.

Awesome!! This is what I'm looking for; thank you! I'm prob like your daughter, my favorite foods are naturally gluten free anyhow. I eat a very varied diet, I love food! Lol :hyper: I read once your body already knows what agrees with it and what doesn't, I seem to just prefer whole foods, minimal ingredients. I rave about DCL food when I'm back home, and I normally can gauge what may or may not be prepared with a wheat product, but you never know. So great to hear it's getting easier and easier! Thank you again!
