Question about depositing points with RCI/II

We have two contracts with DVC and are thinking of selling one, OKW.

What we are planning is to deposit one week's worth of points with either RCI or II (is one better than the other?) and banking the remaining points and then putting the contract up for sale.

Our question is this...

Once we sell our OKW contract, will the points deposited with RCI or II still be available to us?

Can anyone help us with this?

First, you can't deposit points directly with ANY exchange company - they can only be deposited with DVC thru MS. DVC has an agreement only with II (RCI had the original exchange agreement but was replaced by II when that contract ran out). DVC members do not have any direct contact with II regarding exchanges, as all details are handled thru MS.

DVC has the policy of cancelling any outstanding reservations when a membership is sold, so I wouldn't count on an exchange deposit being available after selling the membership. In the case of an exchange, there may be some leeway, but I'd make sure I had a confirmed reservation at an II resort before submitting an offer for ROFR to have any chance of having use of the points.
