Question about deluxe dining plan

My husband and I have done the deluxe dining plan every time we've gone to disney and enjoyed it. Our next trip is this may and I am pregnant and have had serious nausea issues. I am able to eat but small things at a time. My husband still wants to do the deluxe plan but I don't want to waste food. Is it possible with the deluxe to get two apps and a dessert instead of an app, entree, and dessert. Just trying to eat smaller portions, and bring back whatever I can't eat. TIA!!

It's going to depend on the restaurant as to whether they will allow you to order an appetizer in place of your entree. I remember one report about a person who was at one restaurant (I think Chefs de France) and was denied this, they were told they had to order each course exactly as the dining plan required.

As the PP said, it will depend on the restaurant. The Disney owned venues are more likely to flexible. I remember that at Via Napoli and Yak & Yeti (both are non-Disney owned venues) the servers explained which items qualified for the appetizer and which for the entree. You had to choose one from each.
