Question about Delta flight changes...

We are 3 months out from our trip...if I book our flights with Delta and they change the flight times, do they contact you by phone or email? Or is it up to me to keep checking on the flights?

I flew with them last month and my flights changed several times, I never got a call or e-mail. I just checked my reservation frequently on their website.

Yes they did but it was for the best. I had a frequent flyer ticket I got in April. The earliest flight I could get with 25,000 miles was PIT-JFK-MCO leaving around 11:00am, arriving around 4:00pm. I really didn't want to connect at JFK but that was the best on the schedule, the flights through Atlanta were later in the day. Then they changed the PIT-JFK flight so that it arrived at the same time as my connection. I called them and they switched me to a flight through Atlanta, leaving about the same time, arriving at MCO an hour earlier than the original JFK one. Then that flight changed, leaving me a 5 minute connection. So I called them and asked about an 8:00am flight through Atlanta, they switched me with no problem. So I went from a 4:00 arrival at MCO to 12:30, which was great! Plus no additional miles!

Most of the airlines except SW make frequent schedule changes. It's a risk booking far in advance.
