Question about DDP and ADR's

I just added the Basic Dining onto our December trip. I made all of our ADR's before I added the dining and I remember them asking me if we were on the plan and I said no. Now I have 2 TS places scheduled on some days, and we were either going to cancel them when we got there, or pay out of pocket for some meals if we wanted them, however I do not know which ones we will keep and pay out of pocket for and which we will use with our TS credits. I am afraid to call back and tell them we are on the plan because we obviously can't use 2 TS credits a day when we get there so they might tell me I can't have 2 ressies each day. I am not sure what to do since I also can't call specifically and tell them which we will be using the credits for and which we will pay oop for. I don't want to cancel any of them. So my question is this: Is it a big deal if we show up at the podium and tell them we are on the DDP at that time even if I did not tell them when I made the ADR? Thanks all!

Just want to make sure you know that you CAN use 2 TS credits a day. You don't have to use 1 TS, 1CS, 1 Snack every day, you can use 3TS one day, 3 CS another day, just as long as you have the credits to use. They are not rationed to each day, you start with a total and use them up at the rate you wish.

Are you going in Dec during the Free Dining offer by Disney Visa. If you don't know about it, Disney Visa is offering Free Dining for many Dec dates.

Thanks for the advice! I do know about the free dining, however I don't want to open the Visa since we are in the middle of trying to refinance our home and I don't want my credit dinged. Also we got that MYW package that came out with the reduced rates, and it was my understanding that to get free dining, you could not combine it with any other discounts?

You're welcome. You are correct you cannot combine discounts, however, with the free dining all nights are priced at Value season making it somewhat of a room discount as well. Too bad since we stayed for the 6 nights at a value for about 700 and that included 2 one day passes that we don't need but can use in the future as a partial payment to an annual pass renewal or a muntiday ticket. So the real cost that was used up was only about 540 for us!! That with the zero interest for 6 months is great. We had the money for the trip and now it will earn interest in our savings while we have the zero interest, a little bonus from Disney Visa!!

Only if you have two reservations during suppertime, for instance. I think OP was referring to having TS for lunch and supper on the same day for example.

Yes I was referring to one for dinner and one for lunch each day. We don't often get to go without the kids, so we wanted to try some of the nicer places using the plan, and then pay OOP of cheaper places if we so choose.
