Question about connecting rooms

Is it possible to leave the doors of connecting rooms open through the day and close them only for sleeping?

I'm concerned the doors be in the way of the cabin or that they are on a hinge that automatically closes if it's not propped open. I don't mind bringing door jams, but is that necessary?

That's exactly what we did, left them open in the day and closed at night. They don't stay open, you do have to use the door jams but they are provided

Thanks.... so don't pack my own door jams.

We accidentally got locked out of our connecting hotel room awhile ago, as we were using only one room door as an entrance and keeping the connecting doors open. The other room door was deadbolted and our connecting door (on a spring hinge) closed, despite our efforts, while we were at breakfast. They had to break the deadbolt and replace it to get into our room. Not fun and certainly not something I want to repeat on a ship!
