Question about claiming Annual Pass & Photopass

I am considering getting an annual pass when I go to Disney next year. When I go it will be for 5 days at the parks, I am wanting to take advantage of the photopass that comes with the AP.

My question is, will the photopass be available once I link my AP to MDE or is there a wait time between where the photopass may not yet be active?

Also in regards to scheduling FP+, is the certificate for the AP enough to schedule those, or should I just buy a regular ticket and upgrade to the AP when I arrive at the parks?

TIA!

Once you link the AP voucher/certificate to your MDE, you'll be able to make FP when your window opens.

When you get to WDW you'll need to take your ID to a ticket window or GR to activate your AP and pick up your AP card, which you must show to take advantage of discounts, etc. and which functions as your ticket if you don't have a MB. Shortly after you activate your AP, any PhotoPass photos taken in the last 365 days will appear in your PP account and be eligible for download, and any new ones will stay there for 365 days after being taken.

Thanks so much!

Will the Guest Relations at Disney Springs work for activating an AP?

Yes indeed - it's a great place if you're going to be at DS anyway. Be aware that that location gets very crowded when DS is very busy, such as on weekend evenings.

We'll be going on the Monday evening right after Thanksgiving, so hopefully it won't be too bad :-)

Just be aware your AP will start the day you activate it if that makes a difference to you.

Can anyone tell me exactly where in Disney Springs is Guest Relations especially if we want to exchange the Canadian Resident vouchers and activate these tickets?

Edit: NM, found it by zooming in on the Disney Springs map within the WDW website. Thanks anyway.
