Question about checking into AKL

My friend will be meeting me at the AKL but she will arrive before me...The resv. is in my name and I really dont want her to check in ahead of me...~I want to make sure I get as close to my requests as possible and I know she wont bother with that...and I think we should ALL get the pleasure of seeing the room clean and unoccupied when we move in.~ Now should I call them and Tell them nobody is to check into that room but me???

Also since she will be there first but not actualluy check in will they still store her luggage for her until I arrive? She MAY stay the previous night at the All Stars... if she does will they transport her luggage to the AKL AND store it there until we arrive? Or should I just tell her to hang out at the all star until we arrive?

With all the trust and respect you have for your guest, I have a good suggestion. Tell her that you decided to go to Universal at the last minute. Tell her to meet you at the King Kong ride at three o'clock. And forget about the whole thing, forget you ever knew her, just go to WDW and enjoy your AKL stay.

Wow! That was harsh!

I don't think the original poster was saying she didn't trust or respect her guest...simply that her guest would take any room offered instead of seeing that the requests were met (as closely as possible, anyway). I think that is a very valid concern at the AKL since room location can definitely enhance a stay there.

To answer the original poster's question...If your guests name is not on the reservation they will not allow her to check in. They will be happy to hold her luggage at Bell Services until you arrive. I know that most hotels do transfer luggage, but I"m not sure about the All-Stars. If not it would be a short cab ride to the AKL so that is always an option.

I guess I should have added some smiles, I just thought it was funny..

But I do agree anyway. If I am checking in with a group of people that are arriving at different times, I definitely want to be the one to check in. I can check in better than any of my guests.

As Michelemouse said, unless your friend's name is added on the reservation she will not be able to check in, matter of fact the CMs will not even give her any information regarding the reservation or whether you are even registered at that resort. We have had family and friends meet us many times at a WDW resort and I know this to be true. Once my father who was supposed to be listed on the reservation but MS had messed up, ended up waiting in the BWV lobby for 3 hours for us to return from the parks because the CMs would not tell him anything let alone let him in our villa. Thank goodness my father loves to talk to people because he ended up having a very enjoyable time talking to all the other guests & CMs in the lobby, at the pool and on the boardwalk until we returned!
BTW, the All Stars do transfer luggage to any other WDW resort, so your friend can transfer her luggage and then go to a park until you arrive. Or, when are you going??? My father will be there in 2 weeks maybe the two of them can hang out in the lobby together! LOL!!!

LOL...well we'll be arriving @ 6 on Fri...are you gonna be wearing a ribbon around? Ill have to look and I should have mine on my bag or in my hair or something!...although my friend wont have one...I dont want her to know what it is and make fun of me!
