Question about Checking in

I am going to WDW in March with my adult niece and I have made the reservations in my name but she lives in North Dakota and I live in Oregon so we will arrive at different times. I will have her Magic Band with me and my flight gets in 5 hours after hers. We are staying at Pop Century, I will be pre-checked in, but since she gets there before I do will she be able to go to our room? Her name is on the reservation as well as mine. I have asked my travel agent if the Magic Band could be sent separately and she said no. I don't know how soon before we leave that they will arrive, but I worry if I mail them that she would get them in time, I also asked my travel agent about the Disney Magical Express and she said she will be on the list and won't need her Magic Band for that. Thank you for any input on this. She has never been to WDW but I have several times, but I have always traveled with my family on the same flight.

Yes. Anyone listed on the reservation can check in and get into the room. When she gets there have her go to the Check In desk and ask for a Key Card for room access until you arrive.

They should arrive around 21-28 days before your arrival.

I also asked my travel agent about the Disney Magical Express and she said she will be on the list and won't need her Magic Band for that. Thank you for any input on this. She has never been to WDW but I have several times, but I have always traveled with my family on the same flight.

She will not need her Magic Band to board the Magical Express. Just make sure she has the confirmation number with her just in case they ask. Non U.S. residents have to pick up their Magic Bands at the resort so the Magical Express CMs are used to guests not having them.

And if you or she really want there to be an MB for her to use upon arrival, she can always just order one of the basic $12 MBs online and link it to her MDE account.

MBs get sent about 4 weeks prior to check in date. If you want her to have her MB before your travel date, you will have plenty of time to mail it to her.
