Question about checking in with pin code

I received a pin code :cool1: which we are using for our upcoming March trip. We are staying in one of the FW cabins with my sister and her family. The pin code is under my name, and the reservation lists all 6 of us staying there.

Because of travel arrangements, my sister will arrive to the resort first. Can she check in, or will I have to be there since the pin code is in my name? I was told on another board that she should be able to check in, especially (perhaps only?) if the room has already been paid in full. (We are room-only, so don't have to pay in full until arrival.)

Can anyone help me figure this out? Thanks so much!

I used somebody elses room only code a few years ago. I called Disney and applyed the code to our room reservation a few months before our trip. I was so worried they would make a big deal about it and make me pay full price. They never asked. They never mentioned anything about the code. We paid and everything was fine.

I still remember the pin code! BEG Yea we were beggin' for a pin code discount!

Call and apply the pin code now and I dont think there will be a problem.

Well, the reservation is already made using the pin code. My name (which is the name on the code) is on the reservation, as is my sister's. My only question is whether she'll be able to check in before I arrive, or whether I'll have to be the one to check in since the code is in my name.

Thanks again for any help!

Oh ok. I think she should be able to check in. Id call and make sure. Let us know when you find out for sure.

Your so lucky to be going! This is the first year we cant go :(

They do not ask for "proof" of the pin code when you check in. Disney checks when you make the ressie for all the proof they will ask for. You should be the lead on the ressie, however, as an adult on the reservation your sister *should* have no problem checking in. IF you're not the lead (and DH has been the lead when I've gotten a great pin code and applied it), she will certainly have no problems checking in.

Worse comes to worse, they will take your sister's luggage and she can hang out at the parks or whereever, since she won't be needing tickets, until you check in. Now, if she is arriving a day or two before you, just have her talk with the resort manager. Calling won't really help since even if you call the resort directly, you'll go to a call center (even if at the resort).

FYI: As for the previous poster who claims to have used a code in someone else's name. It didn't happen. Three letter codes are general public/targeted demographics (ie, AP holder) codes, not pin codes which are several numbers long.
