Worried about these new reports of charges hitting accounts before you get a chance to pay it off. We want to get our gift card payments in, and the idea of keeping only a magicband and maybe an ID on hand sounded good... but not if it's going to cause us a lot of credit card charges! Even if they're refunded, that's one more hassle/worry to think about, save receipts and paperwork for until everything's posted, etc, etc...
Then I think well, we'll have to carry a GC and leave a secondary back in the room. Seems really risky losing the GC though, as it would have quite a bit on it and, well, I would hope for the best, but I imagine most people who found a GC on the ground would run straight to the gift shop to drain it. This being Disney, the gift shop will be mere steps away, of course!
That would really ruin our trip. So there's two not-so-great possibilities. This would be solved nicely if Disney just stuck to their room charge limits and didn't charge your CC until they hit that. Or if they would post the GC to your room as a credit. Both of these things have happened in the past from what I've read on here, but it seems to be random what your experience will be once you get there.
