Question about charging purchases to the room

Hey guys, I asked part of this on the big I Love Credit Cards thread, but haven't gotten any replies yet. Since I had another question too, I figured I'd start a thread.

1. We're renting DVC points for our trip next year. My understanding is that we get the same perks as any on-site Disney guest. Does this include being able to charge purchases back to our room?

2. If number one is "yes", if I charge all of our purchases to our room and then pay the tab off with my Chase Sapphire Preferred (which gives 2X/2% for travel spending), would it count as "travel"? Seems like it would. I know dining would count 2X regardless, so I'd just use the card at the restaurants, but for purchasing "stuff" it'd be kind of nice to get 2% back by simply charging it to the room and paying off the room tab.

2. It should code as travel as it will be a Disney Resort (i.e. Hotel) bill

Yes. Sorry, I didn't see your question on the other thread. We are also DVC members. We were at Food & Wine every weekend except one during September, October and November. We used the CSR as the credit card linked to the room for all of our charges to the resort that were made with our magic band. All charges coded as hotel and we received 3x/$.

Great! I figured both were right, but wanted to double check!
I have a Disney Visa that will be used wherever I can get the 10% discount, but for everything else I'd like to charge to the room and pay with the CSP.

I thought of doing gift cards, but to me that almost forces us to spend money that we might not otherwise have spent at Disney.
