Question about Changing DVC Reservation

We have 3 nights booked for our Dec stay at BLT MKV. My husband can not take 2 days off of work...he will only have 1 day left, so we need to cancel ONE of our days, which happens to be our first day.

We have booked
Thurs
Fri
Sat

and we need to cancel that Thursday.

Will I have a problem with doing this? If I take off a day, will I have to rebook? We are still new to DVC, so I'm not sure about all this.

ALSO....

We will need to bank our leftover points (90), but we also want to bank the left over points we'll have from December as well. Sunday will be the day I need to call in to make our reservation for June 2010 and I will need to use all of our banked points. (want to get a 2 bedroom at BLT)

So my second question is, should I call today and take off the first day of our December trip, and then go ahead and bank all of our leftover points, so that on Sunday I can just book the room we need?

Yesterday they were able to add a day to one of my reservations and it didn't change the reservation number, so I think they can just subtract a day as well. I know I have done it in the past and it's not been a problem.

I would bank the points before I have to use them. Lately the MS CM told me that I have until October to bank the points, but I told her that I will need to use the banked points when I make my next reservation, so I want them banked before that.

I went ahead and called just a minute ago and they were able to take the day off w/out changing our reservation around. I also banked all our points so that when I call on Sunday I can use them!!

OH, so anyone who was WL for Dec 3rd for BLT 1 bedroom MKV may get your wish!!
