Hi guys,
I was wondering, because my bf and i are thinking about renting a car for the first few days in orlando before going to Universal so we wont be stuck at the motel we will be staying at for the first days:lmao:

So here are a few questions :)
1. Do you recommend any car rental service over another?
2.We are planning to return the car the day we will be going to Universal, but when i have been looking at car rental sites the options are so far away.
Would it be better to return the car at Disney and take a shuttle from there or to the airport?

Oh and one not a car question
3. Would you recommend upgrading our room to club level?,
im not a big eater but i like my soda :p my bf can eat loads, and from what i can see it would only be about 15$ per day and we are on a budget. Also we kind of dont care what we eat :p it dont have to be fancy or much

All three onsite hotels have a Hertz. We are renting the day of our arrival, staying offsite(cause of a late arrival) and then returning it the next day when we check into HRH. We upgraded to Club since it was only $30 more than the Deluxe room we booked. I figured with our family of 5 that will easily cover breakfast everyday.

i thought you were staying off site.
have plans changed and now going to be onsite?

if you will be at the darkside hotels onsite, then that $15 to upgrade to club would be a great deal!

where will be your home base while you are in orlando?
if you are staying onsite at the motherland, you can use the DME for getting to and fro for the airport/resort.
if you rent a car while at the motherland, the disney car center would be good.
they will pick you up at your resort / return you to the resort once the car is returned to them.

you do have options of hotwire for car rental

if you are not staying onsite at the motherland or darkside, do a search for car rentals that will be close to the address where you are staying in orlando.

Plan is to stay at a motel from the 6th to the 12th of september and renting a car while we are there, then on the 12th to go and return the car and go and stay at Hard Rock Hotel:cool1:from the 12th to the 16th, so we will be onsite:banana:

Alamo, Dollar, Enterprise, Avis and Hertz are just across Intl Dr from universal (bearing in mind 'just across' on International Drive is a 15-25 minute walk), convenient for going to the hotel, unloading luggage then returning the car..... booking a one-way rental from the airport would be way to go, you pick up in one location (airport), drop off at another (Intl Dr) :thumbsup2

ok, gotcha, i understand the plan now.

send an email to the motel where you are booked.
ask them to give you the info of the car rental places that are close to their hotel.

pull up the rental car websits and figure out which has the best rates for you.
check the wb for any coupons you can get if you book with them.

then make a decision on which car rental place you make a ressie with.

normally i say to call for this info but calling from Iceland could be a very high bill for youse.

from the UO onsite hotel, you can take a taxi, mears shuttle, car service back to the airport.
