I'd like to go to an Orioles game this summer. Are there any decent hotels within walking distance of the stadium? If no decent hotels, are there any on the outskirts of town that have any type of shuttle service to the Inner Harbor/Camden Yards area?

Too bad there isn't a Metro in Baltimore!

There are a ton of hotels in the Inner Harbor area. How much are you interested in paying? It can be rather pricey depending on time of year but I think most of the major hotels are represented. Book early, buy tickets early. I think those by the Convention center should be an easy walk to the Stadium but I've never walked to the Stadium myself. Do a google for Inner Harbor and look at the hotels. They may give you some idea of how close they are to the stadium.

The Sheraton Inner Harbor is right near there. As is the Hyatt. They are both very close. A bit further (2 or 3 blocks) is the Reniassance.

If you belong to any of these hotel's points plans you may be able to save some money.

None of them are cheap. Standard rooms run in the high onehundreds all year.

There are several Hotels In Cockeysville, MD. The light rail runs From Cockeysvill to the inner Harbor and there is a stop for Camden Yards. It has been about 3 years since we lived there but you could get an all day Lightrail pass for $3.00 then.

We just returned from a quick one night stay on 3/22(near the BWI airport). We had our hotel shuttle bring us to the light rail at the airport after we checked in, so we could shop at the Inner Harbor. When we got there we found out they were working on the light rail and we'd have to take the bus! Well, the bus stopped around 8 times between BWI and the Inner Harbor. Myself, my DD and my 79yr.old mom....they weren't happy! So we rented a Budget rental right inside the Hyatt(which is beautiful) and after a wonderful seafood lunch at Phillips Restr.(thanks to a suggestion from some DISers!!) we drove back to our hotel (a Residence Inn in Hanover, MD, 4miles south of the airport) and used the car all the next day, till our flight in the late afternoon.

Have fun!!

Check out the Holiday Inn in Baltimore... it is less a two minute walk to the stadium... its a nice hotel and it is much more reasonably priced than the Sheraton (which is really nice, but expensive).

My wife and I have stayed there twice and liked it.

I second the Holiday INN my parents and I stayed there back in 94 and it was great as I was the only one who ended up going to al the games and it was gret to leave the ballpark na dbe at the hotel in matter of minutes!
We even got frriendly with the guy at the conicerge desk and he borught us up to the roof and I got some great shots of Camden and the Bromer Seltzer tower too!

Thanks for your advice everybody! I tried to get the Holiday Inn, but it was sold out. It would have been a great location.

I ended up "Pricelining" it and got the Marriott Baltimore Waterfront for $80 a night. From everything I've read on the internet, it sounds like a really nice hotel. I checked out the price on the Marriott website, and the cheapest rooms were $279 a night, so I feel like I've really gotten a bargain. Their website says it's only a mile from Camden Yards, so that is certainly walkable.

You'll love Camden Yards, great ballpark, cant wait till Boston gets a new ballpark like it. that'll be the day

Have a great time in Baltimore! Make sure you save enough for the awesome Camden Yard food---I think they still have Boog Powell's BBQ. The last time that I went--Cal Ripken, Jr-(it was before his retirement) was playing. You might also bring a stadium cushion. Check out the great food at Harborplace and Little Italy. There is so much fun to be had near your hotel.

Watch out for those foul balls!

Enjoy the game! Be sure to try a pretzel from Uncle Teddy's inside the stadium. They are made fresh right there and taste great. There is also a Cheesecake Factory at Inner Harbor. Breakfast is really good there.
