Question about BWV std 1 BR???

I am calling in a few days to book our first trip to BWV. We are going to request a std view 1 bedroom. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should request? I have never even been in the resort!! Thanks for any help!

Just be aware that the Standard View 1Bs can be very difficult to book. Only 20% of the resort has the standard view rooms, and they are very popular due to the lower point schedule. Unless you are calling 10-11 months ahead of time for your reservation, you might want to have a backup plan in mind before you call. If you are hard pressed for points, you could probably book at OKW (which has roughly the same point schedule) and go on the waiting list for the BWV Standard View.

We usually request N/S, upper floor across form the bus stop. If you are lucky enough to get this request, you have easy access to the bus stop (of cousre, LOL), both pools and the walkway to MGM. You are also very likely to have a view of IllumiNations (higher level fireworks only, though) from your balcony.

These rooms are a bit of a distance from the elevators and the "easy access" is to stair wells. If you are traveling with strollers, wheelchairs, scooters or anyone who is mobility impaired, these rooms are not the best choice.

Ditto to Carol's comments. We just returned from BWV and one of our rooms was 3119, standard view across from the bus stop. Great room. Standard view rooms 2001 - 2009 and 3001 - 3009 would still be poor views as of now. The big tent that is covering construction materials is still just below these rooms.

Thanks all for your help. I called MS yesterday to make our reservation and requested N/S upper floor, across from the bus stop. The agent didn't know what I meant by "across from the bus stop". Having never been to BWV I wasn't sure what to say. He ended up putting down "near the lobby". Any ideas as to how I can better explain the area where the rooms are across from the bus stop?

Please know I understand these are only requests. TIA!!

The bus stop isn't near the lobby - it is near the conference center. By requesting "near the lobby" will try to get you a room close to the elevators though!

We only ask for a Non-smoking room, after that we just let them put us anywhere. Worring about room placement will just add stress to your vaca.

We once had the famous room 3123 - great room, just a long walk from the elevator. But it was across from the bus stop and a stairwell away from the quiet pool! Didn't request it, just asked for non-smoking.

I've liked all of our standard views (3 different times). Once we looked at the tennis courts (1 bedroom on the end) and had a great view of MGM. Another time we looked at the entry way (we were down toward the end of the building close to the tennis courts) and had a vew of the bus stop and Epcot fireworks. The last time we stayed above the DVC model rooms and had a view of a little courtyard garden,the top of the Swan and Dolphin and the DVC office building (this view may now be preferred because they are tearing out the old DVC offices).

I must have got the same CM (only mine was a female, LOL) when I called earlier this week. She seemed confused because as she said, the bus stop was on the Inn side, not the villa side.

I told her the area I wanted was just across the street from the bus shelter and that I knew the bus stop was on the BWI side near the Convention Center. I explained a bit more but finally said to please just write "across from the bus stop" in the request field. I assured her that the BWV room assigners would know exactly what I meant.

I plan to call back in February or March to make sure my request got on the reservation correctly.
