Question about BJ's memberships

I just received a Groupon for a discount on a BJ's membership, but it's only open to new members. I am currently a secondary "household" member on my daughter's account. Is it possible for me to open my own account using this Groupon, or since I'm on an existing account, would I not be considered a "new" member? It would seem to me that they would encourage those of us who were added for free (as a household member) to open our own accounts!

I've done that with my wife, but both times were after the initial accounts lapsed. You should be fine, if not, Groupon is good about canceling.
