Question about Appetizer on Deluxe Plan

We are planning on using the Deluxe Dining Plan on our Dec trip.
My DH wants to eat at Flame Tree for one of our credits. We have never used a Dining plan and he has always ordered the Ribs and then a side of Onion Rings. My Question is can the onion Rings(or any side item) be considered an Appetizer or do you just lose the appetizer credit at Counter service. Sorry I know it is a crazy question I am trying to budget out of pocket cost on food. Thanks!

I cant wait to see your responses you get. We wonder the same, many of times we upgrade a side. I also am curious if a salad or soup can be an appitizer.

You don't get an appetizer w/ counter service. You get a combo meal or an entree, a beverage and a dessert. That's with either the DDP or the DxDDP.

Soup or salad at a TABLE service restaurant is considered an appetizer.

I was just glad I got what I wanted for whatever the reason
We have done the Fantasmic before and the seating was ok
I guess if it is bad we can leave and go to the later show
kids are both 15

When we ate at Flame Tree with the old dining plan (when it included the appetizer) we did not get an appetizer there or at any other CS location. We were able to use a snack credit for onion rings though.

So, if you use the Deluxe dining plan to eat at a CS location as opposed to a TS location you are probably always going to lose the appetizer.
