Question about AP renewal

First time we have ever bought APs was in November. We have a trip in March, so that is great for us to use the APs. My question is for our next trip after that which will be December 13, 2014. Our current AP expires on November 12. So, if I want to renew how would I do it? By phone since we won't be at WdW in the 30 day window to do it in person. Or would it be better to buy the new PAP while we are there in March and will it automatically extend our current AP on the renewal date?

You can call Member Services 60 days prior to expiration or up to 30 days after expiration to get the renewal prices.

You can call and renew by phone - we were sent email reminders by Disney indicating the pass was about to expire here's the deal to renew . . . .

You don't have to be there to renew a pass - but you will have to take the voucher you get to guest services (not a hotel, but a park or DTD) to actually get the pass.

Who knows what the process may be by Nov - you may have a passholder MB - which would in theory not require a trip to guest services - they would just update your account to indicate the new expiration date.

Ok, I think I get it. I guess my decision will be if I want the PAP instead. And if I do - I can ask about that when we are WDW in March. I plan to buy two PAP's in March for our two daughters who will be with us then and again in December. So, I know it will be worth it to get it for them. Not sure, about DH and I because I don't know when our next trip will be after December 2014. I might not renew or get another AP until the next year after that. We have been going to WDW once per 12 months - but with kids on different schedules we have two trips this year - that is why we bought our AP's in November. Don't know if that will the case again or not.

We bought APs last Aug before we became DVC owners. Will be have to buy new PAPs to get the deal or will we be able to renew to the PAPs. Also, does any one know if there is a problem going from an AP bought through Disney and the ones with DVC - will we be able to get DVC pricing to renew or have to start over with new APs. Last question - is the deal only for people at the address on the DVC paperwork. We have a daughter that no longer lives at home and would like to be able to get the DVC discount. Is there anyway for this to happen?

I have been doing a lot of research on this. I believe that you can renew and get DVC discount. Orif you want the PAP,you can buy it during the time period they are selling it for. Then after your current AP expires, you can activate your new PAP if you prefer that to a renewal of your AP. you can only get an AP for your daughter if she has the same address as you.
