question about AP expiration date

Our annual pass says it expires on Aug 18. I know this is the day we bought it last year. Does that mean we can use it on the 18th? Or is the last day we can use it the 17th? Do you get the extra day?

I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but we're trying to squeeze one more trip out of the tickets, and if we can use it on the 18th then we probably don't have to buy any tickets for this summer's trip. That would be very nice
