Question about AP and the BRP

I am considering upgrading my MYW tickets to an AP so that I can use the BRP for our next trip. What I am wondering is does the BRP offer discounts on all the resorts? I want to stay at the Contemporary or Poly for early Dec 2006 and want to get a BRP discount. When do the rates for Dec 2006 come out? TIA!

They may have discounts but they may not. They may not have them for standard views but for more expensive views.

They allot so many rooms at a discount and once they are gone they are gone. It also helps to be flexible with your dates too as there may be a discount the day before or day after the day you want to arrive.

Of course they may not offer any discounts at all. They have in the past and I honestly don't see them not offering them though. Just remember it is perk, that may or may not be offered and it may or may not be offered for your resort/view/arrival and length of stay.

Well, that's a bummer. I was hoping the plan was better than that. Thanks for the info.

Actually the BRP only changed the way you book Annual Pass discounts. There has never been a guarantee when you purchase an Annual Pass that discounts will be available or available when or where you want them.

So the only real reason to purchase an Annual Pass is for unlimited admission to the parks for a year, not for room discounts.

Yes...it is true that there isn't a guarantee regarding AP rates, but if the track record over the past several years has been any indication, there will undoubtedly be some form of AP discount provided. Will it be the BRP program, or back to the old way, who knows? More than likely at peak times (i.e. holidays) you won't ever see an AP rate. However, take a look at the historical chart at http://www.mousesavers.com/faq.html#codetrends

I am very familar with the past discounts offered. I also know that since we have been going to Disney for over 30 years that discounts are never a guarantee.

The discounts of the past 4-5 years, especially since 9-11, are not reflective of Disney historical trends with discounts; but more a reflection of the economy.
