I know Kidani's pool has the children's play area, Samawati Springs, but other than that are there any other major difference b/w the 2 pools at Jambo vs Kidani? Which one is bigger? Which one do you like better and why?

Thanks! :goodvibes We have booked Kidani for Spring Break but I am wondering if I should switch to Jambo. The pool area is really important to us.

Having stayed in both sections it's really hard to choose! On the one hand you have the Jambo pool that is convenient to the counter service food, playground, and animals if you want to take a break from swimming and go check them out. It is a nice size pool and I am not sure if it is bigger than the one at Kidani. Now the Kidani pool is great, and I loved that you could have private dining bring you food right at the pool. The pool itself is a great size, has 2 slides and the water play area. I have to say that even us adults thought it was pretty cool in that play area! Our kids are 7 and 12 and they loved this section. They could've spent all day there. As a family we had fun there shooting the water at each other.(only our family was there at the time). They both have pool side games at certain times of the day. We really loved the Kidani section overall. Sorry if I am not much help!:rotfl:

Jambo pool is much larger than Kidani but Kidani has a much longer slide. Jambo has a lot more trees and bushes and you can thus often find shade areas to sit in whereas Kidani is more open to the sun in most areas. Jambo has two hot tubs to Kidani's one. Jambo pool is very close to Mara, the cafeteria style restaurant and Mara has an area outside right near the pool where you can sit and have lunch.

drusba - When we did the pre-opening tour of Kidani last year, I could have sworn I saw two hot tubs there. One by the pool bar and one up by the entrance to the slide near the fitness center.

I must confess we've not been back there since so I'm not sure if my recollection is correct but I thought they had more than one, unless one was a kiddie pool or something and I'm mistaking it for a hot tub.:confused3

Yes - agreeing with the PP - Jambo House pool is MUCH bigger than Kidani's pool. With Jambo, the pool is just "closer" to the hotel. At Kidani, you have to basically walk across the parking lot to get to it.

We like the lush greenery at Jambo House pool. Kidani is really open to the sun everywhere, whereas at Jambo you can get shade or sun depending on what you want. But Kidani's pool slide is WAY better than Jambo's.

Our fave is Jambo, but we would not be unhappy with Kidani.

We were just at Kidani mid Aug.3 nights! Fabulous stay!:cool1:

I believe Kidani has 2 Hot Tubs! 1 is Definately by Fitness Center and 1 is by the Pool Bar!

Next Time, we'll try Jambo! Would like to have convenience of Mara! Both are lovely resorts! GREAT STAY!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

just confirming - Kidani has 2 hot tubs - one at the 'bottom' near the ping pong table area/bar area - and 1 at the 'top' - right by the fitness center.

both pools are great!

Enjoy!

I really prefer the locations of the hot tubs in Jambo, but I think both pools are very nice.

Can you see the new savanah now from the pool area? When we were there last summer, they had one of those construction wall up that ran from the building down past the pool bar, and continued down the side past the hot tub. I had assumed that when the savanah was completed, they would take down the wall.

My 10-year old competition swimmer / fish liked the Kidani pool MUCH better than the Jambo pool. She liked the slide and the splash play area at Kidani. I liked that the pool was a bit quieter and that I could fill my mug at the soda machine at the bar.

We recently stayed at Kidani Village with our grandson and family and the pool area was fantasic. Too many people and too much activity at Jambo house for us. Also, parking was not good at Jambo house - especially with heavy daily rains in June.

Is there a bar at Kidani but not food? Does the bar have any snacks?

Also, if one was staying in Kidani, how far is the walk to Jambo pool?

Hey Robin B - my name is Robyn B!

I also have 2 girls, 10 & 13, who love to swim and HATE to get out of the pool. We live in NJ and they hate that the pool closed here on Monday. I am thinking they will really enjoy Kidani and since I would prefer a quieter pool... I think we will stick with Kidani! :thumbsup2 Thanks everyone!

Yes, they have a small selection on snacks/sandwiches at the pool.

Robyn: I think your kids will love the Kidani pool. They also do some fun games a couple times a week at the pool. Check the schedule when you check in :).
