Hi! I booked our first DVC trip for Sept, and we are staying in Kidani. I read on the board that there isn't a place for breakfast there, and you have to walk over to Jambo. Is this true? I'm wondering if it might be more convenient to stay in Jambo, as our kids are only 5 and 7. What do y'all think?

Also, what's up with the no pool hopping rule? I didn't quite get it. Our friends are staying at Jambo. Would it be better if we were all in the same place in terms of the kids swimming together? Thanks for your help and the wisdom of you experience.

There is no counter service restaurant at Kidani but you will have at least a kitchenete if in a studio or full kitchen in a 1BR or larger that you can prepare quick breakfasts in. There is also a small store in the gift shop that stocks donuts, frozen pastries, cereal, etc. However, if you want a prepared breakfast then Jambo is an easier sell. The 2 buildings are only a 10 minute walk apart so that may not even be an issue except on foul weather days.

All of the AKV facilities, both Jambo and Kidani, are available to use for guests staying at either building. Its just that other resort guests (those staying at VWL, BLT, SSR, etc) can't use them, that's where the pool hopping restriction comes in. The kids would probably enjoy the water play area at Kidani, and its longer slide, more than the Jambo pool.

thanks for that post heller. we're at Kidani in Jan. with an 11 and 8 yr old.

Just spent a night at Jambo House with BFF who had never been to WDW. The walk over to Kidani (we had dinner at Sanaa) was very easy (and my BF has mobility issues with Parkinsons) - as others have said, no more than 10 min.
The game room at Kidani is awesome and there are lots of activiites planned for the kids - also a beautiful new arcade there.
Either option would be great- I'm returning in 3 weeks with DNeph (11) and staying at Jambo again, but I know we'll spend plenty of time over at Kidani for the pool and community hall:thumbsup2 The animal viewing area at Kidani was amazing - they built it at 'eye' level!!
IMHO - they are going to HAVE to put some counter service option in at Kidani - I think the feedback from members to do so will be huge as it was for SSR when they first opened. Be sure and contact DVC on your return and give them your opinions.
