Hi all! I am wanting to rent someones points for AKL but as I have not had a very promising offer yet...I keep looking at all the options that AKL villas have. :teacher:
Now, all that research led me to see that they offer concierge. I am wanting to go in Dec 09 and have someone book 11 months out for me but what I can't find is how do you know if you are booking at the Jambo or Kidani concierge?? The point charts do not reflect any difference? I would like to stay in the Jambo house if possible; so if I decide on concierge, how can I be sure I get Jambo and not Kidani? Is there any way?

Thanks so much!!

Great thanks!! When I look at the 09 rack rates it shows both have concierge villas so I don't know but I would love the Jambo.

That makes my decision for a regular room to concierge hard! LOL!! Decisions Decisions and now to crunch numbers.:)

Thanks!!

There are only five two bedroom lockoffs at AKV concierge. These two bedroom lock offs can be reserved as a one bedroom, studio or two bedroom. Some are handicapped accessible. Three have savanna view, two are pool view.

The member you rent from will have to call exactly when MS opens each day to get that reservation for you. There is no guarantee that they will be able to get these even if they call exactly when MS opens each day.

Prepare to pay extra for the extra service.

If you really want AKV/L concierge, you may want to book directly from Disney to make sure you get this.

Yes, the CL rooms are tough to come by at AKV. The DVC difference - full kitchen and more space. The 2 bdrm suite may be comparable to the 2 bdrm villa. Renting points for a 2 bdrm villa CL is going to be cheaper than renting points for a 2 bdrm suite. The suite will not have a full kitchen. CL is not a necessity. If you can snag it for a few nights just for Sunrise Safari (Sun & Thur) then it doesn't hurt to try. The Kidani Village rooms are going to be bigger than Kidani Village. We're splitting our stay - CL then strolling over to Kidani village 2 bdrm villa.

Concierge will give you pre-planning assistance, but unless you're trying to get hard to get reservations you can easily do everything on your own. You'll have access to a lounge, but I find it way relaxing to have my beer and snacks while lounging in a 2 bdrm villa. No fighting for pole position in the lounge.

Just my .02. As you can tell by my sig, I've been around the CL block. I went DVC and I haven't looked back. I totally love it! :lovestruc If you don't get CL that's no sweat at all.

We just got back from a studio and two bedroom concierge room at Animal Kingdom in June. We got the concierge so that we could book the Sunrise safari which was excellent. The tour guide even had breakfast at our table which was really cool. We would have breakfast at the conceirge each morning which saved us money.

You can't use points for a two bedroom suite or any room at AKL. Only for the villas at AKV

There is no guarantee of a savannah view with concierge. 3 of the lockoffs are on the savannah side, 2 are on the pool side. The savannah view is of the Sunset Savannah and it's not the best savannah view. I think the main advantage of concierge is the Sunrise Safari. If you want to do that, then go ahead with concierge if you can get it (it's only offered on 2 days). Otherwise, I would go for the larger rooms in Kidani, where you can guarantee the savannah view.
