Question about ages?

I seem to recall (or maybe wishful thinking) that Disney charges for your children according to the age they are when reservations are made? For example my daughter turns 3 in August, but we are going in November. If I book before she turns 3, she's free. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Disney charges for children based on the age at the time of travel, not at the age the trip is booked. I booked my 2011 trip when my son was 9, we traveled when he was 10. He was considered a Disney Adult at the time of travel because he was 10 when we actually traveled. HTH.

I think Disney charges you based on the first day of vacation. So if your child is 2 at check in and has a birthday during the trip, the child is still free. Also if your child is 9 at check in and has a birthday during the trip, the child is still a "child' and not an "adult".

Yup. Time of travel (from a Mom who owned a 9 year old when we booked but will have a 10 year old when we arrive and almost passed out when I saw the Dining Plan price difference..). Clearly skipping that now!

It is the time you travel, not when booked or I would have booked as soon as my kids came home! I will tell you a quote from a parents magazine that I would never do, as I would be guilt ridden (too much church)..they asked how old are you and the child said "I am 3, but 2 at Disneyland."
