Question about ADRS

Let me see if I can explain this right.. I want to "try" to plan a trip with my fiance and myself for the end of September, if they have rooms available. I won't have the $$ to book a room (on property) for about another month or so. I know ADRs can be booked 180 days in advance and that they ask what resort you're staying at/confirmation number. If I'm unable to get any ADRs for places we'd like to dine at I may just have to postpone it for a little while since I'm sure lots of people have already made ADRs for September since it's only 4 1/2 months away from the time I'd like to go, past the 180 day mark people are allowed to book. My question is, if I want to call to see if we're able to get ADRs for the places we'd like to go, can I do that without having a confirmation number for a room--do they let people staying off-property make ADRs?? I want to be sure we can get ADRs before I book a room!! Sorry if this is confusing!!!

you can still make ADR without the resort comfirmation......you still call
407-WDW-DINE to make the reservations

Just called this am - don't have a confirmation number myself. Note, they will ask you for one - but don't be scared off. You don't need one to make the reservation. Good luck.

MY DW and I will be at WDW the end of Sept and I called the other day to books ADR's for 4 nights and no one asked for a confirmation or reservation number.

also dont be completely scared by the 180 day mark ( unless you want CRT) i didnt book my Labor day trip until The first week in April, and i Made my dining ressies the week after free dining was announced...i then when back and changed all the times on them just this week ( at the 120 day mark)
not sure where you are interested in eating but we are at the following for all dinners
1900 park fare
chef mickeys
coral reef
captain jacks
captains grill
mama melroses (fantasmic dining package)
...so as you can see some of these places can be popular...we even got a fantasmic seating package...and again this is all during free dining...so is possible to still get stuff being inside of the 180 day mark...like a prior poster said just call...you just need to give them your info and you should be all set good luck!
