I got a mailer stating that we could add on the the BCV for $10 off the reg price! You have to at least purchase 100 points to get this deal. We now have 200 points, we are a family of 5 and the kids are not in school as of yet. I am thinking we should add on now since we may need to go during the busier times of the year.
But would it be better to purchase someone who has points already for sale? I am just not sure that this is a good deal or not? Please help me out, its such a hard decision to spend more.
Thanks so much to all the experts!

Hi.

In order to get the $10 off per point you need to give back the initial allotment of points for the first year. DVC essentially buys them back and pays you $10/point. You do need to purchase 100 points to take advantage of this promotion (Magical Beginnings).

However, if you want to add on, but don't want 100points, you could buy any amount you want, as long as it's more than 25, and rent them out the first year on the DIS rent/trade board. People seem to be getting around $10 per point there as well. That would off-set your purchase price.

Hope this was helpful.

Well it sounds like this might not be a bad idea for you. If you think you are going to need 100 points this brings your cost to $74 a point. Since it sounds like you can make do with 200 this year (going off season) then you could probably do with out the points.

Resales right now are running $72 based on Disney's current agressive buy back which may or may not change. (See Crystal Ball for final answer). Plus with some resales the purchaser pays the closing costs.
