question about adding nights on cash

I am working on a trip for June 2011, before I call next week I wanted to be sure this would work.

If I book 2 rooms, one on points for 5 nights and the other points for 3 nights and CASH for the remaining 2 nights, would those cash nights link to the reservation? Or would we (or our guests) potentially have to change from one 1BR to a different 1BR for those nights?

I was considering renting points for the extra 2 nights, but if we could do it with cash it would be easier and less hassle. However, if the room would change it would be a big PITA and I'd rather plan to rent the extra points.

If your cash nights are booked through MS you can link the reservations. I do not think that linking can be done if you book cash nights through CRO (at least that has been the case in the past).

I believe you need to do a one night deposit on your credit card and the balance at check-in. Also ask about the cancellation policy. It used to be 6 days notice and you would not owe anything but that may have changed. Good luck and have a magical trip.

I just booked a cash reservation thorugh MS for HHI in Oct. and no deposit was due. I made two different ones at two different times and both times I was told I do not need to make a deposit. Cancellation is 6 days before arrival.

This has been my experience at HHI also, but I thought that I read WDW reservations were requiring a deposit. Maybe I am mixed up with CRO reservations.

I just booked about 2 wks ago a room for June 2011 using points for a 2 bedroom and need to add one night paying cash. Member services have informed me the they have only received the cash nights for studio rooms for June 2011. They told me I have to call back everyday to see when they release the rooms for a 1 and 2 bedroom as they do not know when the developer will be releasing them. I also need to book a reservation with just cash nights for that same month and again was told to call everyday. I was a little bothered by this as I was assured back in May that this was done often and there would not be a problem getting the cash nights. I am trying to plan a 50th anniv for my parents and really need to make sure I get these rooms. Oh - they also told me we do not have to put a deposit down on the cash rooms. Good luck to you.

When I asked last week about paying cash for two nights I was told there were no 1BR available for cash. I didn't realize they could be released at some point, I thought they were already gone. That is good news. MS also said that the current policy in which the rooms are held at virtually no deposit will be ending soon. They will be requiring some kind of deposit by this Fall. Not sure exactly when that policy will change.
