Hello all.... I've come to the experts! My parents are going down next week and staying at the Beach Club Villas... as a last minute vacation approval myself and DH will be going with them. Will it be difficult to add us on to their reservation or can they just do it when they check in? Any help is appreciated.

It is very easy to add people to the reservation as long as it does not exceed occupancy limits for the room type. I just did it yesterday and added my sister and her kids to my August reservation. Just have your parents call MS and tell them they want to add you and your husband to the reservation. It took me about 5 minutes.

You should be added at least 48 hours prior to check-in. Have your parents call MS.

If you are doing the dining plan. If you are not then you can add when you check in if you don't wish to call.

Ok great... they are in a 1-bedroom so the max occupancy is 4, so we will still all fit.... lol. They check in on Saturday so I will have my mother call asap, she can be a bit forgetful so does anyone know if there would be a problem adding us at check-in?

There should be no problem as long as you are not doing the dining plan - if you are then you need to be on the reservation 48 hours before check in . It used to be that you could add it just before you walked through the door to check in but that is no longer the case. I have added people to reservations after we have checked in with no problems.

Excellent! Thank you all so much! We aren't doing the dining plan, so that shouldn't be an issue. I appreciate the help.

if your going to use DME you need to get added now and call to get ressie for DME. You can't just show up at MCO and get on DME.:goodvibes

It's better to call MS and add the additional guests ahead of time. Will save some time at check in. Those in line behind you will appreciate it.

Enjoy the trip!

Although not this scenario, we had a problem with MS being able to adjust our reservations. My partner, sister and nephew were staying for 2 full weeks, the first 5 days, his friend also went down, then she left the same day myself and his sister's husband came down.

MS was unable to code the reservation in this manner, so in these types of situations, you need to do all the changes with the resort itself.

Hi! Is this still an issue? I am renting points and we are going with friends who have a room at BC. We are in 2 studios, BCV side. They have extended their stay by 1 night but their room category for that night is already sold out with the spring offer so I offered them to stay their night with us. We will be on the dining plan so I don't really know how that works! Has anyone had this situation? Occupancy is not an issue, we have space. It's the one night and the dining plan thing that is confusing me.

thanks!

If you are renting your stay all changes need to be done by the owner, you can't add people on your own. All guests on the reservation need to be on the same dining plan for the entire stay.

If you are on the dining plan then everyone in your room must be on the plan for the length of stay. Even if they are there one night you will have to get the dining plan for the whole reservation.

I would call and add the people. Doing this at check in caused problems with my points a few years ago. In the end, the problem was resolved, but a phone call now would be best IMO!

They would have to pay for the dining plan for their friends for all nights. I would just go to the front desk the day they are moving to the OP's room.

Disfan3 posted that they rented points. The reservation is owned by the DVC owner and all changes need to go through them.

Renters should not be able to modify the reservation, add guests or add the dining plan. Many CM's don't know the policies and their actions have caused member points to go into holding and in one post the owner got stuck with the DDP bill.

You know that two studios won't connect to each other and they might not even be close, right?
