I own both a 160pt and 50pt contract at AKV.
I am thinking about adding on another 50pt contract but I think I remember there is a reason it might not be worth it to ad-on just a small number of points if it's at a different resort.
What is the rule about combining points so that they can be used for a stay at your other home resort? I know there was a reason that steered me from doing my original 50pt ad-on at a different home resort but I forget all the details.
Is it that the points can only be combined if they were banked?

Also, can points only be made in increments of 50? Can I buy 60 or 72? Just throwing odd numbers out there.

If you purchase 50 points at another resort you many only combine those points with your original two contracts for reservations at 7 months at the home resort of the other two contracts.

Those 50 points only can be used for a reservation at 11 months at the new home resort, and again, combined with your other points at 7 months.

I believe there is only a minimum add on at 25 points. After that you may add on as many as you wish. They do not have to be in increments.

You can buy an add-on for 25 points or more in any increment (26, 32, 99, anything above 25).

Only home resort points can be used 11 months out at the particular home resort. Thus, having points at both AKV and, for example, BLT, means only the AKV points can be used at AKV at 11 months out and only the BLT points can be used at BLT 11 months out.

If you want to stay at another Home resort every other year or so, through banking/borrowing a smaller contract can work out at another home resort.

I believe if you ADD on at another resort and have a different UY than your AKV UY then you would have to do a transfer to use those 50 pts with the other pts. Someone correct me if I"M wrong .
Are your to AKV contracts the same UY

Different UY's give you two different membership #'s. So, yes, in order to combine points for a single night, you must transfer between the memberships.

If you have two different contracts with the same UY, and titled the same way, then they act and function as one big contract if at the same resort from the 11 month window. If different resorts, they act they way at 7 months, when all points can be used at all the resorts.

also, you can't "add-on" directly if you are getting a different UY month. you would have to buy a new master contract of 160 pts...or else buy a resale...

They will allow you to add on at AKV or SSR, with only 100 points, and a new UY. I inquired about this last year and was offered both of those resorts with a different UY with only the 100 point minimum. I wanted BLT and that was a no.
