Question about a baby shower for a 4th child

Thanks, everybody! I don't know her exact age but she is definitely very close to 40. Around here, we usually do the 1st baby and that is all for a shower. We always do gifts for a new child but usually not a shower.

I guess I'm as shocked as she is and was jumping the gun on thinking about a shower. However, it does give me time to plan! It is due during the first of December, so I think an October or November would be best for her. They will be doing Christmas and all sorts of school stuff with the kids and that will not only help her budget but also help her to know what she needs. She is the kind of person that likes to be ready early.

I had my 3rd when I was 39. We had gotten rid of everything. My girlfriends were so excited to give me a shower. We had the best time. I think they secretly were glad it was me and not them!

Don't be so concerned about problems with the baby. I did tell my OB that he needed to take "advanced age mother" off of my medical chart. None of my friends and associates had babies until they were in their 30s.
