Hi All!
Ok, our family has pretty much decided we want to dine here
But here is my question. We aren't sure if we want to do lunch or
dinner.
Do I need to make priority seating in advance? Or is it possible to just decide
the day we are in MGM what we want to do.
Sometimes we don't like being locked into plans.

We are going the week before Thanksgiving.

For Dinner you would need ADR but if you want to go around 2pm, depending on when you are there, in my experience you don't need an ADR or you can make it that day at MGM.

Think of the ADR as your dining fastpass. If you want to eat at 50's and not waste hours waiting in line, make your ADR. We often make them for an early lunch on the day of EMH, then we have finished a good many of the attractions, and are ready to eat by the time the crowd starts getting bad. We also like an early dinner, gets us out of the heat and crowds in summer.

We have gone the week before Thanksgiving many times and always have an ADR. We have seen people turned away from dinner at 50's without an ADR. I wouldn't chance it if you have your heart set on eating there. However if you did want to just "wing it" then I would try eating an early lunch or late dinner. That might give you a better chance. Good luck! It is a great place and the pot roast is fantastic!!

We ate at 50's PT this past May. Our ADR was for 5:50 (I think). As we were checking in someone was asking about availability. The next available seating was at 9:00.

I think you guys have answered my question
I am calling today
Thanks!!

We prefer to eat there later because the meals are so heavy (basically same menu for lunch and dinner) and we feel so sluggish after eating there. But what you might want to do, since you don't know whether you want to do lunch or dinner, is make an ADR for dinner but then while you are there, if you decide to try lunch, go to the podium and check standby for lunch and then cancel your dinner ADR if you can get in earlier. From past experience, we have noticed that they seem to be pretty full with long standby wait times. This way, you would at least have a guaranteed time even if it cuts into your flexibility.

From our experience it is best to make reservations well in advance.:thumbsup2 . After reading the books and websites we figured this was better than risking not getting to enjoy this, plus you may want to eat at a certain time but due to booking you may be lucky to get in close to closing which would keep your family from enjoying Fantasmic::sad2:.

I'm glad you decided to make an ADR. We don't like to have everything planned, but we also don't want to get stuck having QS every single meal either! Its kind of like the lesser of two evils...being preplanned or eating fast food.

We ate at 50's Prime Time last Thursday and it was GREAT! I can't wait to go back!! We don't do MGM every trip since there's really nothing the kids are interested in besides the Beauty and the Beast, but we will go there just to eat at Prime Time. Its sooooo good, and in our opinion, it has the best atmosphere for families.

Enjoy, and make sure you listen to "mom"!!

We ate there last week with 5:00 ADR and they were turning away EVERYONE that did not have an ADR. There were some very upset people. While we have eaten here many times in the past, this was not our favorite this time. The main problem was that once we got seated in took almost 2 1/2 hours before we were leaving. They seated 3 tables of us at once with the same server and that seemed to add to the time. Every time he went for refills he had to bring back 10-12 or so. Food was OK, just not great. Think next time we will try somewhere else.
