The FD program says it requires the purchase of at least a 2 day ticket to get the package, what if your an AP holder? Does that count? Or do you have to add a 2 day tix on that ressie to get FD?

TIA

You have to add a 2 day ticket but you do not have to use the ticket. You can save it for future use (even for AP renewal).

I was curious about this too.

If you are an AP holder, when you say you can "apply the 2 day tickets to renewal", what exactly does that mean?

Also, wouldn't it be cheaper to book with an AP room discount when they become available and get a TIW membership at that point?

Just curious.

If you are an AP holder, when you say you can "apply the 2 day tickets to renewal", what exactly does that mean? When it is time to renew your AP you can bring the 2 day ticket with you and they will give you the value of the ticket toward the cost of the AP renewal.

Also, wouldn't it be cheaper to book with an AP room discount when they become available and get a TIW membership at that point? This is something that you have to do the math and compare because it depends on how many are in the room, the number of adults and children, what resort level you book and the AP rate for the room. The TiW card is primarily for TS because there are only about 10 CS included.

Just curious.

Answers above.

If you purchase a package with FD, could you upgrade to an AP upon arrival? Would you then lose the FD or be charged for it? How would that work? Planning a fall trip, but beginning to consider APs.

Yes you can upgrade your tickets but not at your resort. You would do that at a park GS or DTD. You would not loose FD. We have done this a couple of times. Just remember you need a base ticket to upgrade to a AP. If you have hoppers or WP options you would have to upgrade to PAP. Not done it since the magic bands release so someone else should help with FP+ or check out a thread over on the theme park section for answers.

I am hoping to book FD when the public release day opens. Our trip is in December. DH and I have AP which expire in September. DD's AP expire in January. We are not local. So my questions:)

1. If I book 2 day tickets, can DH and I use these to upgrade our AP when we pay for the December trip? I am thinking we must use them at least once?

2. Assuming I am correct on question 1, we would buy 9 day tickets. Can our DD use her ticket toward the AP renewal a month early?

Thanks:)

This is not correct. If you used any WP & More entitlements you have to upgrade to the Premium AP (PAP), but if you haven't used any of them you can upgrade to the regular AP. Likewise, the regular AP and the PAP are automatically hoppers so it doesn't matter whether your MYW ticket is a hopper or not.

We have FD, plan on upgrading our 10 day park hoppers to AP's after our arrival and that was my understanding as well. But it had me a bit concerned when I read the PP that park hoppers could only be upgraded to a PAP, so thanks for clarifying that.

One more question...if we do upgrade to an AP (we have currently booked FD with a park hopper) should that be done BEFORE or AFTER we use the ticket a day?
