She really was game to the very end! Like in her Jubilee - she performed in a comedy with Paddington Bear, featuring the infamous marmalade sandwiches

As someone who has a long loving and strong relationship...I understand. With the passing of Prince Phillip, you could say she died of a broken heart.

No, it was reported earlier in the day before she died that all of her children were already with her.According to this timeline, William, Andrew, Edward, and Sophie didn’t make it there in time, either.

Yes, undoubtedly.Plans are already set. I suspect that the Queen herself signed off on this.

I keep thinking King Charles Spaniel - how unfortunate to have a dog breed named after a former king that you share a name with!"King Charles III"...
Still sounds a little strange.
Reports are not always true, especially from the royal family. They are getting better about it in general, though. No, it was reported earlier in the day before she died that all of her children were already with her.
True. I feel like there is a lot of vagueness about the time of death that plays into it as well. We know she passed no later than the announcement from BP, but other than that it could have been much earlier. The only one who we know for sure arrived too late, after the public announcement, was Harry. Without a time of death, anything else is speculation. Whether we ever find out those details isn’t all that important really.BBC just says that Prince Charles and Princess Anne were with her - not mention of the other two being there before she died. They’ve not explicitly said that they were not, but when speaking of those who were there when the Queen died, they’ve only mentioned Charles and Anne.
While I have never agreed with her imperial rule, Queen Elizabeth had a dignity and fortitude that is lacking in her older sons, sadly. She managed to rule for over 7 decades without a major scandal in her own personal life, which is amazing!
It's like reverse retirement. (I know he's done a lot of public duties his whole life but this is the real deal, right?)Yes, but she was young. Charles is my age (74). I'd hate to be starting a new job at that age. Especially since he is replacing a much loved and admired lady.

This makes me wonder how quickly her portrait will be replaced around the world, since it hangs in so many places. Does the new king have a formal portrait taken right away? Or do they simply take down the old and have nothing new until much later? So many things to take care of normally after a death of a loved one, and this is like that only magnified 1000%.I’m saddened to hear about The Queen’s passing.
I found it fascinating that the old NHL Winnipeg Jets arena had a huge portrait of Elizabeth hanging inside. I’m guessing it was installed when Winnipeg hosted the 1967 Pan-American games.

I don’t know what happened to it after the arena was knocked down.
