It really depends on how toned down it is. If they do release it, could be also terribly boring. When you're done, you think: this is it?

Whatever way they go, Harry is screwed:
- If it's toned down to not disturb the family, the public will roll its eyes at a boring book, press will savage him for saying it's his 'true story as the man he has become', Penguin might feel cheated even when they make money.
- If it is rebellious, the bond with his family in the UK will be forever ruined, it could win over some people in the public, but also turn more people against him, the press will savage him for airing the dirty laundry.

I really do think it's a no win situation. All except for H/M's bank account.

Not even that, most of the revenues of the book will go to charity.

This book could only do two things 1. Settle scores, 2. Harry probably hopes it opens doors for more deals or a career as a speaker.

I think Harry has more direction than Meghan when it comes to what they should do. Harry seems to have more focus: 1. Veterans, 2. Environment, and maybe 3. His charities related to children.

With Meghan I wouldn't be able to tell for sure what her number one passion is. As in the last years she spoke out about BLM, the school shooting in Texas, vaccinations, mental health, the war on Ukraine. And there were also a dozen women related subjects, like her podcasts, under priviliged girls, women in the workplace, birth rights. It would be better to make women her umbrella topic with three subtopics as her focus, than to jump on the next hot thing.

I think mental health shouldnt be one of their topics as it seems to be too close to talk about it objectively and because their mental health problems are caused by their relationship to the royal family / everything that surrounds the royal family. Every time they speak about mental health, they sound bitter and negative, which doesnt help when your real aim is to do good.

Even if Meghan's true personality is the narcissistic cult leader, she needs some kind of message to get a following. And in my opinion she needs to focus on one message.

Well that stinks, I wanted to read the book . I understand the family wants to squash it, but man it would have been a good read.

I wonder if it really would be, though. Whiny entitled people whining about their entitlements might get old lol

A while ago, even before the funeral I think, there were already articles about that Harry had to rewrite part of the book on request of Penguin. Penguin felt it was too touchy-feely an too much about mental health issues. I wonder if that's a polite way to say 'whiny'.

Every time I write Penguin, the image of The Penguin from the Batman series pops up in my head. Mighty cooperations might not be too far removed from supervillains.

I read yesterday that now Harry’s book is due out January 11!

It is going to be the 10th, almost on the 3rd anniversary of Megxit. Should we consider it kind that they decided to publish it the day after Kate's birthday instead of the day before on the actual anniversary?
