Hello, I need some sound advice about a few hotels in Flordia around WDW. OK some quick backgound. Going with DH, DD-10, DS-4, And DD-15month Aprox at time. I have only been to FL once for a convention and stayed at the Carbie Royale didn't do much only there a weekend and never been to disney. DH has only been to disney once as a child and had a bad experince long story! Kids have never been. I have been planning this trip for many years and something always happens and I finaly figured that life most likely isn't going to change so I'm gonna live it up.
So I can't stay on site thats way out of the budget because I can't sleep with my children because then it wouldn't even be a vacation and I know that they would kill each other by the time it was over if I made them share a bed. So being on a budget that is fairly liberal hear are the choices I have so far as hotels go.

Mainstay Suites- But read somewhere that it's 30 min from WDW?

Days Inn-Old Town- Free rides at Old Town is that good or not.

Cypress Point- though Hotel Kingdom

Can't do Priceline because I have to make sure that they have enough beds. Hubby wants a place that he can feel semi-relaxed as WDW can be. Kids just want a pool.
Not use to top of the line and bad neigborhoods don't really scare me all that much living in Cleveland and all. I just don't want to be stressed and have eveybody yelling because then we could have stayed home. Its just that we've been though so much in the last few years that we all need a break from reality.
Thanks for listening and helping in advance and sorry that this was so long.

PS we will have our car because we already desided that we'll drive down that is at least till the South West fares come out for Summer. Oh yea were going in July 2004

After reading your post... I think I would go with the idea of Cypress Point thru Hotel Kingdom. I have never stayed there, but have been there. It is in a great location, has a nice pool & best of all ... it will give you the privacy you want ...away from your children just to sit & watch TV..or sit in the screened in patio.

How Hoilday Inn Family Suites short HIFS. This is suppose to be excellent hotel for kids. Kids suite that sleep six people the kids can have there own room. Tv mom and dad can have there own room. The best part they offer a free breakfeast.

I think you'd be happy with either Cypress Pointe or Mainstay Suites. We chose Mainstay because we like the "hotel" atmosphere and the maid service. When I'm vacation, I don't like taking out the trash. We got an amazing deal through HotelKingdom, but the price has now gone up $40/night for our dates. From what I've read, no more than 20 minutes to the parks. We plan to use a back route to get to the parks because we are very familiar with it from our last stay at HIFS. Good luck making a decision... it's hard, isn't it?

you can get a week at a 2 bedroom condo for around $265

great price, lots of space, kitchen

I don't know about the Days Inn, but I have stayed at the adjacent Days Suites and it was a great value. We were there 11/2002 and had a 1-bedroom suite for $39.95/nite. Our booking included about $60 worth of Old Town tickets. My DD was 7 at the time and we all had a fun time one evening going on the rides there. Its a great place to spend some time, especially when the Disney parks close early.

That said, with a family of 5 I think you are far better off looking into condo or house rentals. Skyauction is one option, as sin88 mentioned, though I have no personal experience with it.

You can rent a 2-bedroom condo at Windsor Palms starting at $55/nite and a 3-bedroom starting at about $70/nite. You can get a 3-bedroom house from about $90/nite with your own private pool.
