Good morning, chilly and foggy out, but calling for sun and 64. Frost advisory for tonight.

I had to call the outdoor place Monday as I went to start the riding mower and it wouldn't start, no matter what I did. They came and got it and checked it all out. It was the battery. Apparently the batteries they were putting in them the last few years * I mean as in when they were made and came from the factory*, had an issue. The place told me they've replaced 300 of them over the last 2 years. Mine is on it's third season from being new, and it didn't have the voltage it needed to start the mower. Even though it checked good on the power bank I let the guy use when he came to get it. He loaded it on the truck and took it to the shop.
They called me Tuesday saying it was ready, and I went there to make sure for myself that it started. They replaced it with a bigger battery and changed all the cables and everything. Did a full electrical check. I started and shut it off 3x to make sure it started.

Yesterday I heard a truck in the driveway and when I looked out a huge truck was parked there with some giant machine that I guess was a mower and vacuum, and my little tractor sitting behind it. The guy started it right up and drove it backwards down the ramps. $232 my baby is back in the shed where she belongs. They said it was a good idea that I had been taking the battery out in the winter and putting it in the cellar on a trickle charger every now and then, or it wouldn't have made it through as much of the summer as it did.

I texted Summer last night to see if they made it there and back safely, since she never let me know. She said she was still in Ohio, and staying in the hotel overnight again and heading home today. That she was too tired to drive home yesterday. I don't get it, she had money for 2 nights in a hotel, meals for 2 days, and gas to run around, but not enough money to rent a car. Boggles my mind.
sometimes.

I have to run to the store this morning. I bought soda at Martins yesterday because it was b3g3 6 packs, and when I got home I found out that I only had 5 out of the 6 packs. I have to bring in my receipt and they'll replace the missing one.

Have a good day

I had to replace my front tires and my battery on my John Deere this past summer. It was my 6th year with the battery. I'm almost guaranteed I won't get more than 2-3 years out of the new one.

Same pretty much goes for the car ones. There used to be longer periods on new batteries. Now you are looking at 3 years in a lot of cases. (Doesn't apply to my hybrid) We do have ICE vehicles here as well, with the normal type battery.

Picked up my car yesterday afternoon. Very happy with the results! Took my DD's car over this morning for detailing and will make an appointment for mine for next week just before my trip.

Oh and found a small tool left in my car and returned it. The guy was extremely grateful especially as it was an expensive tool.

Good morning dear friends. Thank you all for your sharing. I do read all of your posts. Checking in here every day means so much to me because all of you do. Love always to all. My situation and final decisions are still in the works here. I will have made my choices by the end of tomorrow and be able to share a much more definitive update. My Dad and I are doing okay. We both have had a lot going on. Yesterday was an especially good day. We were/are so grateful. More to come. Joy to each of you always.

Mona I hope you can get to the decision that works best for you and your recovery.

It is 43 here now with temps heading to around 60. I went to Kenny's yesterday to finish going through my boxes to get out those that he could toss into the dumpster. Now I need to go through the boxes left and toss what I don't want and find places for what I do want to save. Kenny will help me set up some shelving in the basement. I am fighting a cold and have bad allergies so together it is very annoying. Jeff feels the same way so I know I got the cold from his family. Sam was sick last week. Today I am going to try to take it easy and chill a bit after work.

Have a good day.

Good morning. It was 34 this morning and we had a light frost. Going to be sunny and 70 today, 75 tomorrow and Sunday with rain expected all day on Sunday, we'll see if they're right or not.

I went to Martins yesterday and the girl at the service desk gave me a hard time. I asked for the manager, and for her being rude to me, he refunded me the entire cost of all the soda I had bought, and gave me the missing 6 pack.

My mower started up better than it has in ages, even seemed to run better. I got the entire lawn mowed in 35 minutes, a new record, lol

I texted Summer last night to ask if she made it home. Nope, not yet. She was still there in Ohio, in his hotel room (the company rents out rooms for all the workers). Her husband had gotten tickets to the Cincinnati/Pittsburg baseball game so she was alone in the room. She said the hotel has free breakfast and dinner (I've never heard of a hotel offering free dinner, but I guess it could be so). She had been delivering Uber Eats all day, trying to make enough money to have her dog put to sleep, but barely made any tips. She just wanted to go to sleep and drive home this morning to spend a couple of more days with her. She had to wait till this morning to leave so the company would pay to fill her gas tank first.

Doing a few more outdoor chores today, cutting back the peony's and the crepe myrtles (again). Waiting another couple of weeks before cutting back the rose bushes, and putting the deck furniture away.

Have a good day.

Some hotels such as Drury Hotels and Embassy Suites have food in the evenings as well as the morning breakfast. People sometimes make a meal of it. I'll be staying for some nights during my next trips to stretch my DVC points, like the last night in December, but I doubt I'll be enjoying the evening offerings as I'm doing the DVC Hoop De Doo.

There may also be other places that do this as well. Hotels with club level usually do it, but that's usually an upscale offering.

When I'm driving south and back I almost always see work crews staying in Marriotts, IHGs. They tend to do breakfast at opening (like me). The Fairfield Inn in Florence, SC almost always has railroad crews.

Good morning. Had a few light showers overnight, heading for 77 today. Rain tomorrow.

I did a few more outside chores yesterday, will be closing up the ac for the season on Monday. Waiting for a new cover to get here tomorrow.

Summer texted me that she finally made it home. She was planning on spending the weekend with her furbaby and having her put to sleep on Monday, but texted me later on that she called and made the appt for this morning. She's suffering too much and Summer doesn't want to prolong it just so she can have more time with her. I know how she feels, and I feel bad for her and Gracie.

Planning on stripping and remaking the bed, then dusting and vacuuming and then doing the kitchen and bathroom floors, so I may as well get started.

Have a great Saturday

Mona Sorry the day did not work out for you. Hoping Monday brings some good plans for you.

Pea Thinking of you. :grouphug:

Good morning. It is 40 now with temps heading to low 60s. I am not going to the soccer game this morning. Still not feeling great and do not want to sit out in 45 degree weather with damp grass. Kenny is not going to be there as he is working this weekend. I am not up to seeing the ex and maybe her mother or father. I am not feeling very cordial today. LOL! PollyannaMom mentioned shopping at Roche bros. There is one 2 towns over so I may take a look. We had one in the town I lived in for so long but it went out of business pre pandemic and was replaced with a Target. We always got our Christmas roast at Roche Bros. I have some housework to do too but just going to pace myself.

Have a good Saturday.

I need to get a cover for my outside unit also.

Sorry Summer and Gracie are going through the big decision to put down their pet. Not easy. I'm looking at 3 ageing cats and a dog here.
