Good morning. I'm home and the weather matches my mood. It's gray and cloudy, and raining lightly. Of course I come home as a storm hits the Mid Atlantic. Temps only in the mid 60's today and tomorrow. My furbabies all missed me, I had 3 at one time trying to sit on my lap, and the other 2 curled one on each side.
It's going to take me a couple of days to get out of jet lag and the time change before I feel somewhat normal again. I already miss Hawaii.

Everything was as it should be when I got home. The house was still clean, the litterboxes were clean, my mail and pkgs were stacked in a box that was closed so the cats wouldn't get in it, nothing had failed or broken while I was gone (whew), and the neighbor had even mowed and weedwacked my lawn. I owe them big time, and am going to miss them so much when their new house is finally built. They're still having issues getting the sewer and elec in. This has been going on for a year now.

@Judique As long as we were already going, and got such a good deal on an Airbnb, we added on a few days to make it really worthwhile. I had to laugh that you went in for a window blind and came out with a new range. You have to strike when you find something like that.

I hadn't heard from Summer since my birthday, she texted me last night that they've been doing a thorough cleaning and fixing stuff that broke while her husband was at work in Chicago. They're getting sent to a different state this time, she has to bring him back on Tuesday. She says she'll stop and see me sometime this week, but she said that before I left and never did. I don't count on her for anything these days.

Today is going to be unpacking and laundry day and then just relaxing and trying to enjoy being home.

Have a lovely Sunday

Good morning all. Weather here is a bit on the cooler side and we are expecting the storms here too. I had planned to finally get down the shore tomorrow but that is out I have reached an age where coastal flooding isn't attractive anymore.

Been a busy week. Lent Ella the money to get a new used car. The one she had already cost $4000 in repairs and the transmission went. $3800 for a trans on a car that has 270,000 miles or $3300 on a car with around 170,000 and has a better reputation, we went with the used Hyundai Sonata. My daughter had a used 2001 Sonata that she never took care of and it lasted almost 20 years. I like the odds and the mechanics advice.

I have been up since 6:30. Made 2 trays of mac and cheese - 1 plain and 1 a little more for adult tastes. A fruit tray, I hate cutting up fruit sometimes but it came out nice. We are having a "surprise" party for my parents after church today. When I left for Disney mom said NO PARTY!!! I came home to find out she was convinced they have to have one. Planned it all last Sunday. My parents were married 70 YEARS on friday. I think it deserves a celebration, especially with all they have been through with dad's health the past 2 years. The surprise will be if we can actually get Dad to the church. He is basically not mobile anymore. His knees are shot and his legs aren't strong enough for him to get around more than a step or two if we are lucky. My brothers have one job - GET HIM TO THE CHURCH ON TIME!

Well time to load all the food into my car and pick up the balloons. Hope you all have a great day and stay dry,

Happy Belated Birthday @PollyannaMom! 🎈🎂🥳 I hope you had a nice day!

Glad you had a wonderful trip, Lynn, and that everything was ok at home. I always worry about that, too. And I like coming home to a clean house, too! Get busy planning your next one! Sorry your neighbor will be moving, ugh.

Wow, Snowysmom, Kenny is one busy man! Very impressive, all that he can do. Would love to see a picture of your new Tiffany light, it sounds so pretty!

Judique, that’s so funny about the stove. I do things like that, too. Agree you have to strike while the iron is hot! With our in law remodel we did IKEA cabinets and DD bought her apartment sized stove from there, too. It’s very modern looking and is working great. She just had to get used to an electric stove, we have gas in the main house so she’d never used electric. Last night she made us a pork dinner and it was good (and good not to have to cook). I know what you mean about the fruit. In FL last month we got the best nectarines I’ve ever had (at ALDI’s). So good. So I’ve been craving them. Haven’t found anything as good at home, all I’ve found is ones that are hard, dry and tasteless. I did find some yesterday that looked good but I haven’t tried them yet. DS is coming over w the kids this morning. His stepson adores fruit. We made a nice fruit salad for him and we’ll be cooking breakfast.

Mona I hope everything is going your way. 🙏 Anxious to hear what’s happening!

Taz congrats to your parents on 70 yrs!

Well I had my infusion Thursday and it went ok. It was really nice to see my chemo nurse and aide there, though I had a different nurse run the medication and a different aide. Afterward I had diarrhea and a headache for about 24 - 36 hrs, but nothing too, too bad. A little more tired than usual. They had me keep drinking lots of water and taking tylenol and motrin, and that was good advice, I think. I went to radiation planning on Friday and that went well, walked the dogs in two different places afterward, then yesterday a friend invited me to a local craft activity making pumpkins and that was fun. I start my actual radiation this week. I went to a Healing Mass and those always make me feel good, I get anointed with oil and hands on prayers said for me. It’s powerful. I believe they’ve helped, also, as my response to chemo was better than expected, which is a positive sign that treatment is working. Worried about another medication I have to start in December as I’ve started reading about it. It’s got a lot of potential side effects, but I’ll have to cross that bridge when I come to it. It’s a newer drug and results of studies are coming in that’s showing it’s effective, so I have to keep that in mind. I read testimonials from people who are taking it and that made me mostly feel better.

I hope everyone has a good Sunday! 🐣

I did! Put up my Halloween decorations, went on a light hike in the fall colors, and then went out to dinner with DH, DS, and DS's girlfriend, at a place I've been meaning to try. It was an all-around good day. (I'll post some of the trail pics separately, as they are on my phone and I'm on the "big" computer right now.)
Would love to see a picture of your new Tiffany light, it sounds so pretty!
I second the need for a photo!

That's good! One step at a time

Taz Congrats to your parents for 70 years married.

Here are 2 pictures of the light, one on and one off. I really like it and it looks good in the condo. I made my next Sept Disney trip res for Sept 16-20. So when do you think Kenny and Kate plan to get married? Saturday Sept 19. I figured that would happen! LOL! So now I am on hold to change my trip to 9/9/26-9/13/26. I also want to do a few days in North Conway in Oct so I want this trip to be earlier in Sept so work won't be upset at me.

Have a good evening.
