Good morning. It is 30 cold degrees here now. The heat is on. It will be going to the mid 50s today. I am having lunch with my MA friend today. I am sure we will be talking about our Sedona trip next month. I need to ask her what she is bringing for clothes. Since it involves yoga, tai chi, qi gong etc I think exercise/yoga pants are part of the wardrobe. This will be such a different vacation for me and outside of my comfort zone. It will be interesting. We have never traveled together but we do get along very well. And meeting her life long friend will be nice.

Good morning. Waiting for our flight to LA. Then it's on to Denver, staying overnight, and heading to the airport for my flight home. Not in a hurry to get home since the weather there shows that they had nearly freezing temps last night and will again tonight before it warms up.

@Snowysmom You are right, it will be time to plan the next trip. Especially with winter looming just around the corner. Have to build the bank account back up a bit first though, lol. I don't spend money on much else, so it's nice to be able to finally be able to travel a bit.

They took Bonnie‘s picture off the adoption board today. Bonnie will be brought for a home visit on the last Tuesday in October, and if it all goes well, they will leave her with us.

Good morning. It is cool here again. My heat is definitely on. I had a nice lunch with my MA friend yesterday. We could chat all day. I asked her about packing for Sedona and we are on the same page except she is only doing a carry on. For a week I need to check luggage. I don't know how she does it. For 3 nights I can do a carry on but that is my limit. I bought a few tek gear things from Kohls so I can layer each day as the temps can be tricky. Today Kenny is coming by to install a new ceiling light in the office and master bedroom. The one in the office just died and it is really a cheap mess. The bedroom has the same fixture so he is going to change it out for me before it decides to die. He may install a new dining room light if he has time. I have had the new light for a while as I dislike what the builder installed. It is so ugly and the upgrade you could get was even uglier. I bought a blue tiffany hanging light for the area.

Good morning. It is 50 now and temps staying in the 50s today. Rain is coming in later and tomorrow is supposed to be heavy rain and wind. Kenny came over and switched out 3 lights. He put up the Tiffany dining area ceiling light and it looks really nice and colorful. Such a nice addition. The original that came with the condo was so ugly and so big. It overwhelmed the area. This one is much smaller and is just right for a small dining nook. I am going to see Jeff this morning hopefully getting back before rain starts. I have to stop by Kenny's and let out Clifford. Kenny and Kate are going to UMass Amherst to scout out the wedding venue there. Kenny is cleaning out his basement and has a dumpster. I have several boxes in his basement from my old house and he asked me to go through them. My attitude is if I have not needed anything from them in 3 years then I don't need them but I will take a quick look.

I love the '3 years' attitude! I have a basement full of stuff that falls into this category. But it's out of sight out of mind so often as life gets busy and more interesting than cleaning out a basement.

Very little rain here so far. Mostly just a heavy enough mist to wet my deck. Even Dog didn't balk at walking across it to go to his section of yard to do his morning business.

I'm just 2 weeks away from my October trip. Today I have to check and make sure I haven't got any double bookings. Son has asked me to watch my 9 month old grandson the morning after my return and I've been juggling the idea of moving my last night to the front of my reservation but there are no DVC nights available unless it happens a couple of days ahead. That's always possible as nights often get thrown back before expiry if they can't get used. Meanwhile my last night is the 31st and I kind of want to stay at Disney that night rather than driving off north that morning.

Most of the issue is arriving home on Sunday and reporting for baby duty early the next morning, with the horrid beltway drive. I guess I can do it once. It's just for the morning. Granddaughter is now in a private coop preschool and Mom is going with her while other grandmother is out of town/not available.

Time to start planning the packing as I intend to travel light as Disney will be warmer than here.

Welcome home, Lynn! I envy you your long Hawaii vacation. Too many anxieties for me to plan such a trip! I used to fly everywhere.

I bought pears and plums yesterday. They are hard as rocks which I knew and expected. But, I want to eat them now as I didn't buy any other fruit. Should have picked up some riper bananas.

The strawberries, raspberries and blueberries were all expensive and I'm kind of tired of them. I bought apples 2 weeks ago and they went fast as DD loved them, but I didn't eat any. I actually planned to bake a pie but they were gone.

I probably need to start stocking some frozen berries and setting out a serving (in the fridge) before I go to bed.

And, last but not least, I went by Ikea to buy a replacement window blind. Came home with a new range instead.

Ikea was changing displays and I arrived as they put out an unused, unblemished free standing range with all the features I want in the right colors for my kitchen. Convection, self clean, 4 burners plus warming spot, etc. It's an older model but works for us. Had it delivered in 2 hours. It had started at $1199 and came down to $424. Then tax brought it up to $450 and delivery for $75. These are Whirlpool brands, and I have a Whirlpool dishwasher and stove exhaust fan already. I'll never have all brand matching appliances but I don't care. I had been watching for the perfect stove for quite some time as my other one won't die, a basic model. So, it was easy to make this decision. Now I have to go get a new cord and call an electrician to unplug and attach the new cord. And I left the store without the proper blind and had to go back yesterday to pick it up. (Had to get home to accept delivery).
